The Evil Within 2 (Friday 13th October 2017!!!)

TEW that I played was not buggy at all and ran at perfect 60fps. It also had awesome, varied level design and pitch perfectly tuned gameplay and difficulty, with each encounter leaving me scraping by just barely, always engaging.

Feel free to keep your wrong opinion though, I won't hold it against you.

I'll keep my wrong opinion as well then, not even close to being the best.

I wouldn't say it was the best but I enjoyed it a lot despite its obvious flaws. Really can't wait for TEW2.

I see where you're coming from Paul - it was my favourite RE game since RE4 in it's day and a brilliant sequel to the RE games in the post RE3 format of action/horror survival. RE7 was awesome too but if went down a different path compared to 4,5 & 6.

Opinions are subjective by the way ;)

I mean, I thought it was obvious I meant that last line tongue in cheek.

I played a PC version about six months after launch. Can of course only speak of my own experience, which was technically flawless.

I played and finished RE4/5/6 (plan to play 7 very soon) so I am comparing TEW against those. And although I enjoyed those RE games a lot, I just found TEW better tuned up and more varied in its level design. Although 6's Leon campaign was awesome and RE4 is mostly great as well.

DLCs to TEW were weaker though. They are must play for story reason, but actual level design was lot poorer than in main game.

Been watching people play this on Twitch today, looks a little more open worldy than the first one but still seems to have the annoying (to me at least) thing from the first one where you can only run about 20 metres before being knackered. Damn cop is less fit than I am.

This bugged me too. And some of the slow to a crawl just hold forward sections, hope that's gone.

24.99 is a good price for a new release. But I'm not sure about this one still. And after launch, if received well, the prices will go right up as always.

It's a gamble

25 is a good price for a new release. As you say though, its a gamble. Especially when I have South Park 2, Wolfenstein "3" and Destiny 2 coming up as well as some other titles (plus Total Warhammer 2 and Divinity 2 still to play through to completion). Think I need to watch more twitch play of it before deciding.

Obviously be aware of spoilers etc, I haven't even watched the trailers as I hear it goes into detail about the end of the 1st game? Tbh I got so close to the end I may just watch that finish on YouTube as I dont think going back for a chapter or 2 will be worth it :D

And yea so many games right now. Destiny 2 and Mario are the same day, leaning more towards Mario for launch at least

Thanks. I already picked it up from CDKeys for £27.99 in August when I bought my Vega 64 - I had Wolfenstein 2 pre-ordered with CD Keys but got also got this free with the Vega card so got CD Keys to refund it and bought The Evil Within 2 with the funds. CDKeys customer service was brilliant by the way guys, the funds were back in my Paypal account within 20 minutes of me sending an email requesting a refund.

an't say the same for livecards. Still waiting to hear back from them 2 weeks later about a refund for a game brought by mistake. Won't use them again.
