Its a different type of game to Alien Isolation which I thought was superb. Even if you do not change your review mind about the game its still well worth completing at least once there are a few decent chapters. By design its supposed to be a plodding slow game ;)
 
I have played for a couple of hours and honestly, it felt painful to play that long. I am a big fan of Bethesda and really enjoyed previous games, but it just wasn't happening for me. I have another week off work, so will give it another try and I do hope it opens up a bit and I feel I want to carry on playing, as I hate wasting money on games that don't get played.
 
It's great to see folks actually giving this game a chance now.

Probably single handedly thanks to AWPC taking the time to explain why it's a worth while play.

Yer, I am open for criticism and duly note all feedback good or bad. I will revisit it and give it a good solid play. I am off for the next week, so no excuse and I hate wasting money on games (and we have all done it), so if it improves, I will give it another review.
 
Yeah give it time it gets much better after chapter 3-4 onwards. Its a slow paced survival action horror game but IMO worth playing thru at least once. Keep hitting the crates to find hidden ammo/health & the game calculates what you need so if your low on something it appears in a crate ;) also the savegame hub has some stuff hidden as well get those keys (shoot the 48 little statues) open those lockers for more ammo/health!

I agree with you mate & I only paid £25 + got the season pass for £7.49 in a Steam sale. If you paid full price & within 2 months its 66% off that is absolutely crazy economics who will buy full price games in future if its 66% off on some games after 2 months :eek:
 
Is it because the game was a flop and they're trying to make at least some sales?

Did they ever patch the PC version to iron out the bugs?
 
From what I tried in the demo, PC version was much better than console one. The ability to remove black bars itself makes it infinitely more enjoyable.

I agree, the game did flop. But i can't help but think most of the bad reviews are because of the stance the devs took with the cinematic experience and black bar fiasco.

Beneath all the rage, i have a feeling a good game exists within a genre which, lets be honest.. has been forgotten about and when attempted watered down one way or another.

Apart from the people who are upset about the obvious issues with the game, which supposedly has been patched. The only 'problem' i see people reported time and time again seems to be along the lines of lack of ammo or health, which i see as a positive in a game like this.

But then again, i can't say for sure. I haven't played it yet.. so perhaps I'm totally wrong.
 
£9.40 on the VIP deals there. Hey, 12p and you don't have to bother inputting a code :D

I should have waited, never expected that this could go even cheaper than £11, incredible.
