The FA CUP Third Round - 7/8/9 January *** Spoilers ****

Is the Arsenal v Leeds game live on terrestrial TV tonight? I can't seem to find a TV listing of the game on either bbc/itv other than a 30 min highlights showing at 10:30 on ITV. Seems like ESPN have it live though, are ESPN showing the game exclusively live?

Aye ESPN only :(

Well, that's if you discount the t'nternet :p

Well the ref is to blame, but if Rooney influenced him at all then he shoulders a portion of that.

rooney influenced him by mimicing a card being given. no wonder rooney was the first to shake the ref's hand at the final whistle.

sooner or later, a utd player will tackle in a similar way. be interesting to see the reactions if the player is sent off.

All I can say is if Lampard only got a yellow last weekend that was never a red yesterday.

It's getting annoying isn't it!

One bright point fo the weekend though was Arnaud Mendy's goal against Bolton - hope that wins the FA Cup Goal of the Year :D

For what it's worth I dont remember seeing Rooney brandish the imaginary card, all I saw him do was going up to the ref and hold up 2 fingers indicating it was a 2 footed tackle. Did anyone actually see him brandish the imaginary card or is it just Mancini saying it?

Just Mancini I believe, who was waving cards for skrtel to be sent off after Toure dived for a penalty.

2 fingers?

looked like he was mimicing a card to me

Rooney didn't wave any cards, he held his hands up and said "Two feet"

This^.

The interesting question should be, as the ref had already blown the whistle and was walking over to give judgment, would he have given the straight red had Rooney not reminded him of something he no doubt already knew?

how do you know? he didn't hold both hands up, he held one hand up mimicing a card and it worked. he went absoloutely mental when kompany won the ball (as opposed to nani, who carried on and chased back) and the ref sent him off.

22 seconds in, thats not brandishing a card, he is telling him it was two footed, clean your glasses!

Does the argument between waving fake cards or running to the ref shouting "two feet" make ANY difference? either way he was trying to influence the refs decision.

Welcome to football in 2012. its been creeping into the game due to foreign players for many years now it was only a matter of time before everyone started doing it.
