The FA CUP Third Round - 7/8/9 January *** Spoilers ****

omg are you watching the same video?

How can you not see that? Asking for him to get a card out, and reminding him it was 2 footed are two completely different motions!

unreal. Some people just wont learn.

Two different motions that lead to the same result. It makes no difference what so ever, i can't even understand why you two are arguing over this

Pointing out the fact that it was two footed is not the same as waving a card, one is telling the referee what happened, the other is telling him what decision to make.

Rooney is quite clearly mouthing the words "Two feet" and isn't waving any card I've ever seen. The ref then makes the decision.

Im arguing because he is saying Rooney made the motion of telling him to book him, he didn't. He motioned that it was 2 footed.

Im not arguing that he influenced the ref, only the ref knows if he did or not and we will never know.

mr bios is correct, it makes zero difference. the point is, every other utd player just carries on, it's only once rooney makes a fuss that foy blows, therefore, he has influenced foy's decision. not the first time a player has done it, wont be the last either. foy is inept, it's been proven before this game.

Take Rooney out of the equation then, what would you have done? No foul? Yellow? Condemn the player being tackled to a potentially career ending injury whilst only the player committing the foul a 3 match ban?

It was two footed, it deserved a red, simples.

The tackle wasn't two footed though, at least not in the sense it would require a red card, his left leg clearly isn't involved in the tackle itself nor is it ever looking like making contact with nani.

For that reason alone rooney screaming "two feet" at the ref is clearly attempting to influence the referees decision. That's no different than waving an imaginary card around.

what? condemn the player to a potentially career ending injury? may aswell let the attack run past the defence then as no defender will dare challenge for the ball through fear of it being a 'potentially career ending injury'.

It is different to waving a card though, isn't it.

If you put your hands in the air when you think it's your teams throw in, technically thats influencing the referee, no one will complain about that. Whats the difference between claiming a throw in, and claiming a foul?

how do you know? he didn't hold both hands up, he held one hand up mimicing a card and it worked.

I think this is proof that you did indeed watch a different game to everyone else

EDIT: and here is the proof

Not even an inkling that he was mimicking any colour card there but simply holding up 2 fingers suggesting it was a 2 footed tackle

Yeah, that's how I'd define it as well, which means Kompany's wasn't two-footed.

No that definition tells me that Kompany's was 2 footed, watch the video he literally launches BOTH of his feet forward together like a torpedo at the ball/nani's path.

That both feets studs are showing, and that he literally LUNGED into it from 2 yards back tells me it was reckless. Debatable Red but cast iron Yellow.

But then we could go back to anfield and carraghers 'tackle' on Nani, that was worse but as memory serves me he only took a yellow...

these things even themselves out, or so ive heard.

Do you play football?

With Kompany's ability, and pace he could quite easily have met Nani on the sprint with no need whatsoever of sliding in with both feet.

Whats wrong with a good old strength to strength tussle with the ball?

It was wreckless, his feet where off the ground and the studs up, had Nani not been expecting it and planted either of his legs he could quite easily have been in the hospital.

Rules state, 2 feet off the ground and studs up, red card.
