The Fashion Thread... personal tastes, musings, and recommendations

So it nearly summer, and I am in need of a new wardrobe. Particularly SHORTS.
I have had a search of this thread and they haven't been mentioned much, only 11 times, so not a huge topic of conversation.

Whats everyone's consensus on getting out the legs. Short shorts, knee length, 3/4 lengths.
I am looking for smart shorts for an evening on holiday and sunbathing ones too.

It can be quite shocking how expensive they can be too, equaling and sometimes exceeding a pair of trousers, which makes little sense.

This thread would be helpful as I haven't (maybe cause summer sales arent in yet) seen any good ones.

Where do you guys buy your trainers? The main sites I know (Schuh, Amazon) seem to be quite pricey and trainers don't seem to last me long, so I'd like a more reasonable price (sub-£50). I'm looking for Converse-style trainers.

Cut just above the knee, no excess pockets. Chino shorts in tan and navy are pretty simple staples. 'Short Shorts' are for women. 3/4 length trousers are silly. If you want to go 'a bit different' then buy chino shorts in coral, a pastel shade or a pattern.

Looking for a blazer or sports jacket.

I dont know if this is possible to wear with grey trousers and work shirt. but also with ingego jeans or chinos ( not got any so can buy any color)

What color jacket would work and any recommendations?

I'm quite tempted by one of these jackets but I'm not sure whether I prefer the grey or black. Opinions welcomed. I think I'm leaving towards the first one in grey.

Well according to me you should go with linen/cotton blazers available in various colors instead of a sports jacket to stand out and if you are not in a hurry and want a blazer with the perfect fit that doesn't break your bank you should give a look to the custom-made online avenues.

Hangrr.com : Different colours to suit all moods(casual or professional), i like the purple and green linen blazers. The price is USD 199 only and they will provide you with you fine finished blazer in maximum 3 weeks.

Indochino.com : If you have a higher budget you could also look through the indochino's collection. I like the salmon cotton blazer and the quality matches the price.

These stores also have their brick and mortar stores in your city if you could find them online and you can even book you appointment online.
Good luck hunting for the jacket/blazer.

Just picked up three pairs jeans, one pair of holister slim fit dark wash, two pairs of Levi 511's, a smart navy pair and a stone wash pair. Ralph Lauren Hoodie and a Ralph Lauren blue and white striped shirt that I've had my eyes on for quite a while.

Should last me a little while.

Ralph Lauren shirt and levis combo:

A few refreshes, gonna have to clear out a lot of my wardrobe as a lot is just stuff I basically only wear on days where I just don't care and a few of my pairs of jeans really need retiring now. Not to mention now I've managed to run my lungs back up to their pre-op capacity (yay) I'm gonna swap over to more focused on strength training so I imagine (hopefully) before too long I'll be outgrowing some of the smaller stuff as well. Developing a real weakness for KG shoes though which may well prove painful financially!

Not really a fashion question, but got a new tshirt a few weeks ago and it smells. I want to say it smells if chlorine, but it's not chlorine, it is a familiar smell but I can't place it.

But I've washed it 6 or so times and it still smells like it, if I tumble dry it, it gets worse.
Anyone got any idea what it is, how to solve it, or is it throw it in the bin time.

Are we supposed to guess the fabric type?

If it's 100% cotton and you've washed it 6 times and it still smells then something is very wrong... what brand of washing powder/liquid do you use?

Ariel tabs 3in1, don't think it's that as none of my other t-shirts are like it. It's just this one. Even if I wash it with other stuff, they come out fine, this still comes out stinking. Could it be some sort of dye fixing agent they haven't removed properly.
