The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

That's impressive and inline with my calculations on the earlier page :D

So at 1006MHz it roughly equals a heavily overclocked 7970

Seems so, however 1006MHz might also be heavily overclocked. To my mind there's still some doubt over the stock clock speeds.

Will also be interesting to see how well it clocks ABOVE 1GHz. If it goes a long way it should destroy 7970. If it doesn't I think it's fair to say they're equal. If that's the case then the deciding factors between the cards (personal preference aside) will be performance/Watt, heat and noise.

Any news on when 660 and 670 cards will be out?

It's coming out in two days. It's called the 680.

OK so that's a joke but no, absolutely no news or rumours.

Apparently Nvidia are having wafer shortage problems, so they're not going to want to make cards that sell for less money right now. Right now it's all about making them till bells ring and bottoms sore lol.

He is also saying that Batman:Arkham City is running at 112FPS at 1920X1080,4XMSAA on high settings with the GPU core overclocked to 1.3GHZ and with overclocked RAM:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1231113/gigabyte-gtx-680-2gb-already-arrive-at-my-shop/430#post_16751424

The CPU is a Core i7 2600K at stock clockspeeds and he is using a low end Gigabyte Z68 motherboard.

An HD7970 3GB overclocked to 1.125GHZ produces 98FPS using the same settings:

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/sapphire_hd7970_3gb/6.htm

The CPU is also a Core i7 2600K but is overclocked to 4.4GHZ,although I am uncertain if the game is CPU heavy.

In the HKEPC review the GTX680 was faster than an HD7970 3GB too.

I wonder if someone in this thread who has a Core i7 2600K or 2700K could run the AC benchmark??

So,ATM a 1.3GHZ GTX680 will give you 112FPS with a 3.4GHZ Core i7 2600K and a 1.125GHZ HD7970 will give 98FPS with a 4.4GHZ Core i7 2600K.

What does the massive difference in the Bus Width 256 bit Nvidia to 32 bit ATI and Bandwidth 192.3GB/S Nvida to 25.2.2 GB/s ATI make. Seems a very big differance does it mean anything about the two GPU`s as ATI`s Pixel and texture Filrates are higher.

I can with my gtx470's?

Will that do?

I'll quickly clock my 2600k to 4.4ghz for fairer comparison.

If you could run it at both 3.4GHZ and 4.4GHZ then we can compare them to both(if you have the time). The chap with the GTX680 appeared to be running the Core i7 2600K at stock. However,I was looking at the Unigine screenshot so I can't say if it picks up overclocks.
