The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

Expand? Or give me a quick summary of the next half a year of expected GPU updates/ performance points...

That's probably a stupid question.... Let's stick to 6xx, 7xx and 7xxx

Well, hopefully the true GK110 or GTX780 will be coming out around august time.

So a few guys are thinking that the GK104 which is being used atm for the GTX680 will be used later for the GTX760.

Priceing will change a lot around that time too, hopefully.

The chap with the second GTX680 has now benchmarked the card in fullscreen mode:

The score is now 80FPS.

So,the latest drivers have auto-overclocked the card from 706MHZ to 1006MHZ?? The score has gone up from 54.1FPS to 80FPS and Unigine is not CPU limited.

that's quite impressive.

but...

700-1006 is a 40% overclock dude.

Said it yesterday, but I just have this inkling the 670ti was designed to be a 700mhz card, yet when they got it in their mitts and sat down and played with it they realised they could clock it way higher. Which then turned it into a 680.

Well, the heaven result is impressive - at least in comparison to the 7970. But I wouldn't put too much stock in it... At "extreme" tessellation settings, heaven becomes largely a tessellation benchmark. We all know that tessellation isn't implemented to this degree in most games.

The real test will be the results from a full suite of games. Initial results suggest that the 680 is roughly matching the 7970 clock-for-clock, and is shipped with a slightly higher clockspeed, but until we see a full set of results we can't say for certain there are no "pitfalls" for the technology.

Probs ran SLI overclocked, got the score then disabled SLI and set to default to take screenshot?

Not necessary with heaven - IIRC you can edit the results files then re-open them, to show whatever you want.

There was a bit of drama just before the release of the 6970s. One member of these forums did just that, saying he had a 6970, and inflated the scores. He said afterwards that it was 'just a bit of fun', but quite a few people were understandably annoyed!
