The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

Can some one do me a favour please?

Run Heaven on a 7970 with their card clocked to 1006 mhz and post the scores? Also really ought to be on a heavily overclocked 2600k as I only run a 950 and thus my scores are well from par.

I would be interested in seeing the min FPS. Thanks.

Gimboid Gits!!

Someone on TPU linked to my pictures directly without mentioning OcUK. Then I started a thread about the benchmarks and the flipping editor seems to have copied the pictures I saved(just look at them side to side) and now TPU has put up an article!!

TBH Greg (and I am usually a very honest person) very little to nothing.

I have money put aside for life in general, I have my living costs taken care of.

I had already displayed what sort of a person I was by buying a 6970 TFIII with two games for £280. That was close to being the most I had spent on a GPU since 2001 when I ran a 3Dlabs Oxygen 32mb with a pair of Voodoo 2s.

Any way, sorry for digressing. A friend of mine bought an Alienware Aurora in parts and never finished it, before buying a ALX. He then realised that the place he was storing the Aurora in was becoming damp, so wanted to get shot of it fast. I gave him £130 and an Xbox 360 for it. I threw in a pair of GTX 295s that were given to me and sold it for £600.

So yes, the 7970 "owes" me pretty much nothing, and unless it was for that "touch" then I would quite simply not own one.

I just figured it was a good idea to safeguard my PC gaming with that money instead of blowing it on food and beer and so on. Gaming I do a lot of and it's pretty much how I stay in touch with all of my USA in laws and friends.

I enjoy what you write at times Andy, however sometimes you seem to go off on a tangent. I am not putting you down and if it seems I am, I appologise but seriously lighten up. We don't know the specs or the price.

Don't make it a personal crusade to dispel Kepler before it is even released. Let us have any "Leaked info" and let us enjoy it.

1006Mhz is obviously the max boost clock when running intensive 3D games and benchmarks. So yeah I would regard it as the default clocks. Question is how much more overclock headroom is there?

Dude, that is the last thing I am doing. I hope Kepler is bloody great I really, truly and honestly do.

But what has come to light has been everything but honest. As I said in my long post about NDAs and so on Kepler is only being showed winning in those benchmarks.

And, a friend of some one who has one of these cards in his mitts has already come forward and said that that will absolutely not be the case.

I just don't want any one believing that those benchmarks tell the whole story, because it absolutely never EVER works like that.

Next thing you know pre orders will be available and people will be spending hundreds of pounds on something they have seen winning in skewed benchmarks.

no it isn't, because i can pay this same price for a 50'' plasma, this card and all the others are way too expensive... this is especially bad because we're in a recession right now, because it's not just about buying this, it's the Electricity, council tax, petrol etc.

i've built a top end rig for only 450 quid.... i only need the card now, but there's no way i'm going above 350 quid for this, you just need to compare prices online and i dont think i'm the only one around here that's careful nowadays.

it's the wrong time to be releasing a card costing 500 quid, people just dont have the money nowadays

Stop talking for yourself. I have the money and probably a lot of people do waiting on these gfx cards. Just because you can only window shop and dream doesn't mean its the wrong time to release a card for the rest of us.

If you want to save on electricity then you want to look around the Geforce 2 range and AGP slots.

Hehe I had some CFD results I posted on a forum taken and posted on 6 different forums. Only two mentioned me by name which i'm fine with. The thing that annoyed me was that none of them bothered to read the analysis part so on each forum they where misinterpreted completely :p

Always watermark original content :D

It was 700 when it was a 670ti.

It still is! If they released this as a 670ti oc edition then the enthusiasts would be happy, especially if it was £299. It would have cleaned up the GPU market. But no, they rebadged and overclocked the cajones off of the poor GK104 and now it's top end at £450 LOL
