US: The Flash (2014)

I wouldnt say Arrow has been any worse than LoT, certainly not season 5 anyway. To be honest, they are all varying levles of watchable to enjoyable but i'd say LoT is the worst of the lot.

LoT had the whole cheesy/camp/ridiculous thing going on from the start though. Arrow went from being serious, dark and gritty to whatever the hell it is now.

Their shared hallucination fight had potential to be epic but it didn't quite deliver for me. Ollie should have had a two on one fight against Ra'as and Slade and Diggle/Ray didn't fight anyone meaningful but a couple of grunts? Why not Deadshot or his bro? Not sure who for Ray would have been meaningful. Evil Felicity? Lol!

Notice on the show how Ray Palmer kinda stay well away from Supergirl or anything "super" or Kryptonian related. "Awkward" :D

Finished the crossover shows last night. It was all OK at best. The usual star labs being able to mass produce any given item in the time it takes for a scene transition saved the day as usual...
I haven't seen any of S2 of LoT so the weird iron man/capt america hybrid guy confused me. Liked the Ray joke about supergirl "she looks like my cousin" :P

I have watched at all and actually liked it, but I like all the shows. It was never going to be an epic Emmy award winning story told over 4 episodes just a superhero team up crossover and for what it was I think they did a great job.

This show sure does make Barry out to be the most useless speedster there is :p Even Wally is faster than what he was at the same time of his training :o

That's the problem with the Flash as a character. If he's as fast as he's supposed to be, he's completely god-like and can never be beaten or even surprised. He can even travel through time and beat Superman. They've had to tone him down for the series, hence making him young, inexperienced, and full of teenage angst.

He's not a teenager though, he's in his mid-20s and a typical millennial.

Every time it mentions future Barry (seeing future news stories, people coming back in time etc etc) he's always made out to be this super intelligent, awesome guy who stops all the bad guys and makes them all hate him.

Barry now is mostly a dumbass, I assume he gets smarter with age...

I have to say, this is the thing that annoys me most about the show. The Flash comics that I read as a kid show Barry Allen as a grown man, with grown-up attitudes and ideas. He's not a whiny little teenager. He has a will and a attitude that the TV show has abandoned. This is because they've still got an eye on the kids/teenagers audience, instead of having the confidence of writing the show for adults.

It's like Doctor Who in that it could be so much more if it stopped pandering to children, but it can't quite get there.

Yup I get why they limit his powers etc. but still to even have Wally who "just" got his speed and is already beating him is laughable.

He is not already beating him, he is just quicker at that stage than Barry was at the same stage.

That is what I meant.

Unless Barry manages to get faster (which I'm sure he will after a "we believe in you", "run faster barry" talk he will :p), Wally will soon be over taking him :o :p
