The only game I've had so far that couldn't 60fps is Unity. That is about 45FPs.

Most games I've played though I've been using SMAA. Watch Dogs is 60fps using Temporal SMAA which looks fantastic IMO. Far Cry 4 uses SMAA and looks great.

So I'd say yes. I think some games could run with MSAAx2, but I would imagine the Witcher 3 won't etc.

Are there any games you want specifics on?

I could be tempted by that Acer as well, likely won't get it on release though. I'll see how long this Swift lasts until it inevitably goes bang :p

yeah i agree. Got there LG 3440x1440. Been using it since release. i cant go back after to a normal screen now.

Same. Only thing I would consider is selling it off and picking up an eventual Gsync model.

I had one of the first 2560x1080 DELL panels a couple years ago and it was OK but needed to be that little bit bigger. The 34" 21:9 is a sweet spot :D

Add around 30-40% more frames than your gtx980 is achieving and you will have your answer.

If that's the case then this is the card I'm looking for.

Dragon Age Inquisition, Rome 2 with medium shadows, Atilla with medium shadows, Shadow of Mordor, Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, Dying Light.

Any of those will be helpful, especially DAI. I imagine all of those games will play at 60FPS (with minimal drops is what I'm looking for) but how much AA can you use, if any, is what I'm wondering.

If I do get this I'll be putting it under water so I should be able to get a nice OC.

I did a few 2560x1600 benches for someone earlier. 3440x1440 is slightly more demanding than this but you can get a good idea.

I can run them in 10ish minutes if you want for 3440x1440.

DA:I
Titan X OC
2560x1600 Ultra Preset (2xMSAA)
Avg 57.6

Dying Light
Titan X OC
2560x1600 (Everything Maxed And On - View Distance 100%)
Min 74 - Avg 97.28 - Max 145

I also have SOM and BF4 from the games you listed

I can answer a couple of those (need to install SoM and BF4 again)

Atilla with Medium shadows and EVERYTHING else at max using MLAA is 40fps in the benchmark. I don't know if that would bother you or not, the game is a massive, massive performance hog so I think that's actually pretty good.

Dying Light is as mentioned above, I get about 80fps absolutely max avg.

I'll have Rome 2 installed soon and will let you know.

This isn't a personal benchmark, but bit-tech.net benched BF4 at 2560x1440 with 4xMSAA I believe and scored 80FPS avg so I would imagine 60 is more than doable.

Thanks folks, I think I've got a good enough idea. The Total War games are indeed performance hogs so those benchmarks are pretty good.

The problem with 21:9 3440x1440 is the lack of G-Sync right now which would alleviate the drops below 60 for a number of games it seems.

Here is a question that interests me though: Does DAI look better at 85/90% resolution scaling with 2xMSAA or 100% resolution without it (Both should be solid 60FPS).

I'll probably get this card soon but, i mean - come on guys. I been using the 970 at 3440x1440, ok granted not everything maxed and AA is off but everything is on high. Dying light im getting 50-65/70fps. Hardline 75 - 100fps. I've got say that still impresses me.

Dunno, i think when you reach this high res i dont think its a deal breaker having AA turned on. Maybe i have lower standards!

I tried 90% with 2xMSAA (at both 2560x1600 and 4K) and also 100% resolution (1600 and 4K) without.

90% res scaling seems to stretch the image slightly and feels weirdly distorted IMHO.

100% resolution seemed better to me

Btw :
In the Hinderlands battling it out (crowded)

4K Ultra Preset (2xMSAA) 35-40 FPS
4K Ultra Preset (no AA) 39-47 FPS

Not necessarily a deal breaker but did want this card to be THE ONE at this resolution which it's not quite. I have no interest in SLI so will have to wait until next year and 16nm I imagine but until then this should be great.

Interesting. Right now with my 980 I use 75% scaling with no AA but everything else maxed and it runs nicely at 60FPS with a solid OC. The image seemed perfectly fine to me, no stretching. Did you try restarting your game after making the change?

Considering 3440x1440 is only 60 percent of 4k I believe, I think Inquisition would be 60fps or close. Almost certain with an overclock.

That's what I would have thought but africanos23 reported earlier:

DA:I
Titan X OC
2560x1600 Ultra Preset (2xMSAA)
Avg 57.6

And that's at a resolution lower than 3440x1440. Without MSAA though it would easily maintain 60fps no sweat.

Just so you know that was calculated from the perfoverlay function (frametime FPS)

I used the same settings as you at 4K :)

50-63 FPS (MSI AB readings on my G19 keyboards display) in the camp with 10-15 people around me (mostly high 50s)

My custom resolutions with CRU don't want to work with this game :(

Edit: With a 1427Mhz OC on the core its 55-66 FPS
