Looks like I'm going to have a busy several days:

Fit TX, test TX. Extensively and repeatedly :D.
Transplant system into FT05
Install fresh copy of Windows 8.1, Office, etc.
Complete the virtualisation of my server.

Just ran Heaven....... 111fps.........min = 33.........score 2799
but it's temp = 82 degrees and it's quite noisy :mad:

it reminds me of the 7990, it's not as bad as that but i havent OCd it yet.

image looks smoother than the 970, i'll now try Sniper Elite 3 bench, i dont know what to think right now, but i cant say that i'm 100% happy, because the 970 sli is dead quiet in comparison and miles cooler.

luckily, i've got the money because this needs Water Cooling right now

it was okay in SE3 and it's temp remained at 83 degrees with the case side back on (whilst back in Heaven).

but it's very noisy even with the case side back on, it's like a hair dryer on low, it's easily as noisy as the 7990 but it's a constant noise, where as the 7990 used to pitch up and down as it throttled back.

this card is way too noisy, so if i cant find Water Cooling it's going back :eek:

and it's not even overclocked :eek:

I don't mind a bit of noise during games, but I really do appreciate silence when not playing games.

yes i am quite shocked about it, it's powerful yes but considering it has no overclock and only at 1080p, it's way too noisy at 84 degrees.

fan is on Auto

there's no noise when you're not gaming, but as soon as Heaven is on the noise starts when the temp gets to 80 degrees and continues for about 30 seconds after you exit, the temp holds steady at 84 degrees but the noise is the same level as the 7990....

in Sniper Elite the noise isn't too bad and the image quality is definitely better than SLI, it's has far less artifacts and less tearing and stuttering, i'll investigate Water tonight

as said it's not a total disaster, but it deffo needs water, if not i'm going to send it back...right now i feel very depressed

So set up a Custom fan profile in AB. I never run stock fan settings on any card.
