The Hunter

A mate downloaded this for me & tried it on my PC for a good 2 hours, never fired a shot nor saw any Deer.

Plenty of Deer Poo which I found quite apt.

I soon lost interest and went back to battlefield 2 where there is also no Deer, but, at least something to shoot at!

Didnt see this thread!! I've been playing the hunter for a couple of weeks now, got several 10 and 12 point rack kills, and a 580ft kill on a doe. I bought the game and went turkey hunting too :D Now have to find a 12" beard!! Madness.

Cant wait til they add transport and stats :)

My first two runs were utterly fruitless, took me time to realise you really have to slow down, and also to find out how incredibly powerful the lure is!!

My name ingame is Silath, would be delighted to receive some more friends - I hope there will be comparison tools once the stats system is live! :)

That's because you need to hunt them....You can't just follow the tracks and expect the thing to be standing in front of you on the third track....Crikey.

easy tip is go to biggest meadow near middle of map.

crouch do a deer call and wait.

generally if your hidden on fringe and wait theyll come out.

dont even track them now as this is a lot quicker.

Oh yes, we just followed Deer crap for 2 hours....

We did hunt mate, the name of the game had given us a vague idea that was the objective. :p

Not sure if you're talking about the same place, but I've had a lot of luck at the field just North East of the lake, south of the lodge. There's a tower near the road, I climb up there and use my lure every few minutes. Seems to draw a bunch of them if you're patient and wait for them to come to your call. You have a great view of the whole field and both Whitetail and Mule deer go there.

Is there any way to see a record or log of my kills? I can't seem to find out how much points my kills were worth.

I think that people who are never seeing any deer are probably moving too fast. When you're following a trail it seems best to be crouching at all times as the deer will get spooked long before they're in sight if you're running around.

You also want to stay downwind so that they don't pick up your scent. Use the wind indicators to release some smoke, if it blows into your face then you're all good :D

Yeah, best to move v.slow and use the call a lot. They will come to you if you find a good spot downwind of a deer call your Huntermate pick's up.

Was 6th in the Turkey Challenge last night! Need to do some more today.
