The Hunter

Just got myself a Mule deer 6 minutes in this morning:

Weight: 133.8 kgs (295.0 lbs)
Tracked: 6 Minutes 20 Seconds, 0.18 km (593.8 ft)
Spotted: 19.6 m (64.3 ft)
Kill Distance: 12.4 m (40.6 ft)

Shot it through the chest and it bolted but when i found it dead a little way away. 100% accuracy for me although it was only 40 feet lol.

How do i know how many points its worth as Doc is asking for a 6 pointer now.

Got myself a 3 month membership, really enjoying it which is strange as i usually have no patience.

Still don't know how to find out how many points things are worth though.

I spent an hour tracking what I think was a group of 3 and I NEVER saw them. AN HOUR!!! Do you lot walk or run when you get a track? I tried everything but I felt if I was walking or crouching that they were always getting away from me. Running I was probably scaring them away.

never run! I've been running and seen a deer that I was tracking and not expect to see so soon bolt from a stupid distance away. Walking is just as bad as well. You can get closer while walking but even then they bolt when your a moderate distance away. I would only run when you want to get to a particular part of the map. from then on crouching is your only real way of getting near to them....

If you have a track and you think it's relatively close, pretty much always crouch....I pretty much scout the area soon as I get my first track just in case :)

ooooh, might play this for a bit this morning now!

Free version though.

What do the bars at the top of the huntermate mean? Occasionally i get 2 blue and a green but can't see what relevance it has to anything and there doesnt appear to be anything to shoot nearby either.

yep ambient noise nothing to do with you.so dont worry :p

as for running i will run constantly .

once you get used to playing youll find certain hotspot areas where you will slow down or be more patient .

if tracking your fine with running standing up until say third track then stop slow down crouch whatever.

youll spook some no matter what you do so dont worry.

still best way for most off animals is calling them.make sure you use it.

the elk dont respond to the caller though it more than often scares them.

DG looking at your map that you screenshotted, I can only get on the little island to the bottom left.

Is that something to do with free mode/paying the subscription? Also add me to friends: Knubj3

I have the missions to kill two 200lb+ bucks, a whitetail stag and a load of turkeys - are they all possible on the free ulimited pass? Or do I have to pay now?

ScareySquirrel:- I was like you mate, when I first got it I spent most of a weekend in at least hour sessions and I didn't even so much as see a ****ing deer.

It's ok to run but if you hear a noise or find some tracks instantly crouch everywhere. I sometimes stand but don't walk to try and get a better view through bino's and it's dense.

Basically it's all about nice and slow when you might be onto it. Also if you hear a marker and it dissapears on the huntermate, it's showing a noise from that direction. Just crouch, use the deer call a few times and then move about 10m away from the spot you used the horn and wait.

If no luck within a few mins of looking and being quiet, use the call again and see if you get a response from the deer through sound on the huntermate.

It's all about patience. Sometimes deer do spook even when u are crouched/proned, due to being downwind or they see you. Sometimes I've had a deer walk within 6m of me and not see me!!

I just spent bloody hours on it, time flew. Was tracking a pretty large elk and went for headshot and missed :(. Followed it for what must have been an hour as i kept spooking it then it auto retired me to the nearest lodge cos i had done nearly 6k :(.

Yeah you only have the license for the standard deer. Can do Elk, Turkeys and something else with the warden license. 4 quid a month isnt bad, reckon i've got that much value out of it already.
