well it wasn't like they were one after another, it took 4 and a half hours out in the field.

When I first started it seemed like it was impossible to catch up with the deer when tracking but then I worked out that i was just not seeing them and scaring them away. Slowly slowly seems to be the tactic here

elk gun trial has now ended

so unless they change something later today your going to have to buy a elk killing gun.

tbh i think the 30.06 should be free and maybe the scoped version you pay for.

apperently theres some news regarding new guns next week . a guy who works for the hunter replied to a question i asked revealed the little snippet of info.

so i think ill wait til next week to see whats in store.

Yeah, I stumped up for the 306 but have to say it did leave me with a slight feeling of paying for something I shouldn't have to.

They've got it at a cost level now which will encourage users (it's probably cost what, £17 so far?) but if they start charging for every new item plus the cost of membership, I think folk will leave in their droves.

Its really not that expensive, considering its continually developed and the online community aspects. I bought the 30, don't see how its something we shouldnt have to pay for - they were pretty clear about it being a trial.

Think I'm going to stick with just hunting the deer and the turkey for a bit and see what happens with the new guns. I never really got on with the .30-06 and it looks like we should be able to hunt elk with the .300 rifle and .44 mag. In fact it looks like the .44 mag will be good for all four of the currently available animals.

I agree although i wonder would it not be better as a flat monthly subscription with the option of better weaponry as you score and experience increase

I also bought the 30, just to get a go at that leader board

That is correct, hence why I'm not playing anymore. I paid for a license to hunt elk and now I cant because they want to charge me more for the privilege :rolleyes:

well had a message from the head guy which has left me with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth

all i was put how i didnt think the 30.06 was worth paying for but would gladly pay for a scoped accurate version.

theyve even hinted that news is coming about the new weapons this week coming so if new guns do come out people are not going to be happy when they just coffed up for the 30.06 days earlier.

im just hoping it doesnt become a money pit and ruin it.the game is good but it is starting to look like there going to milk it.

to make it easier i think like already suggested you pay a one of fee and get everything.no messing and when new stuff is in you just get it after the update.

Thats whats getting to me. Essentially all the game involves is walking round an island with randomly generated animals. This to me does not justify the amount of money they are now charging.

I finally got a kill of a deer. I got one before I signed up but obviously that isn't logged, so I am pleased to get my first one that is recorded.

I shot it and it ran over a hill, I thought I had missed it, but I ran after it, and then saw it running away, hobbling a bit, so I shot it again and down she went

Today I shot 2 and never found them again

I agree, as per my post above.

Odd thing is, since buying the .30-06, I've never had/seen so many Elk. When I've not been clearing ammo, I've taken at least 4 or 5 per hunt and have seen loads more. Seems a bit too coincidental for me.

funny thing is as soon as the gun went from my inventary within less than 5 mins! the first thing i saw was a massive bull elk just standing in the road .it did not run like normally would and i didnt hide or try and creep up on it.this suggests to me that they have implemented something in the game but cant prove it obviously.

i did take the next one down with my other sniper rifle

uneffical pffftt .

if your a paid up warden then no.

if your on free play then you have to buy bullets i think.
