As much as i love having the newest hardware, this doesn't merit the cost! However i will certainly upgrade as soon as there are significant price drops and performance/overclock proofs
Hi there
It sure has!
We also have motherboards and Triple DDR3 memory kits so you can get everything you need from OcUK right now to build your new Core i7 machine. OcUK first yet again!
holycow, look at the price
Noticed there doesn't seem to be cpu coolers out for the new socket yet or am I being lazy ?
Hi there
Cost into UK distribution on those is $284-$290 plus any shipping cost, then UK distribution adds margin, then reseller adds margin and then you have UK taxes (VAT) which you can't avoid and it all adds up.
We never get US prices for the simple VAT we instantly pay 17.5% extra on everything.
Also remember the exchange rate is now only 1.76, no longer the 1.98 it was.
So care to explain that then?
If 2.0v according to these other sources would kill the CPU then how come my CPU is not dead, care to explain?
Would seem the rig I have is not suffering from these problems unless the damage takes a long time but I've been upto 2.15v which supposedly anything over 2.00v would fry one, well mine is fine.
I can only comment on what its doing and for me I have had no issues with memory I have used both Cellshock and Kingston memory in the board without issue.
Certainly the suggestion is that it increases CPU degradation over time. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of chips die within the warranty period if they use DDR3 at 2V+.
Only time will tell though.
And since when has that stopped anyone?would you be voiding the warranty running mem at 2v though?
