The i7 has landed for pre-order.

Yeah exactly, plus i want to wait and see what memory speeds are liek before i build one as all my software needs good memory timings.

As much as i love having the newest hardware, this doesn't merit the cost! However i will certainly upgrade as soon as there are significant price drops and performance/overclock proofs :)

im gonna wait for about 4 months.

i was ready to buy a e5200 based system this week, now i think it might be a waste of money!!??

Hi there

It sure has!

We also have motherboards and Triple DDR3 memory kits so you can get everything you need from OcUK right now to build your new Core i7 machine. OcUK first yet again! :)

could you run the i7 with nuclearus benchmark tool? i mean theres some 3dmark and vantage stuff with that processor but nuclearus imo is the best cpu bench :d

i might pre-order if it looks nice :D

So many people have got used to being able to buy good hardware far too cheaply, meaning that when anything new is released at is the bleeding edge of tech, they complain its expensive. I mean, the people who say they will wait etc know what its about, its just been made, its going to be expensive until a lot of people buy the product so it becomes "mainstream".

Anyway, I want....even though its not like im cpu limited in my system......although supcom could run better in 8 player 1k limit games, hours in, cause that happens all the time pfft

Hi there

Cost into UK distribution on those is $284-$290 plus any shipping cost, then UK distribution adds margin, then reseller adds margin and then you have UK taxes (VAT) which you can't avoid and it all adds up.

We never get US prices for the simple VAT we instantly pay 17.5% extra on everything.

Also remember the exchange rate is now only 1.76, no longer the 1.98 it was.

Ohh for once I didnt have to post this, lol at the its $266 /2 means cppu £133 woohoo peeps?

Yeah dollar rate sucks.

So care to explain that then?

If 2.0v according to these other sources would kill the CPU then how come my CPU is not dead, care to explain?

Would seem the rig I have is not suffering from these problems unless the damage takes a long time but I've been upto 2.15v which supposedly anything over 2.00v would fry one, well mine is fine.

I can only comment on what its doing and for me I have had no issues with memory I have used both Cellshock and Kingston memory in the board without issue.

well maybe its not killing cpu instantly but degrading it over time ?

Certainly the suggestion is that it increases CPU degradation over time. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of chips die within the warranty period if they use DDR3 at 2V+.

Only time will tell though.
