Glad to see the whole Apple ethos of 'it just works' holding up well here.

What **** at Apple thought that releasing the Lion update and the Lion Recovery update (totalling 888MB) on the same day as iOS 5 was a good idea?

Maybe they should have staggered the release like let europeans download the update when america was still asleep.

i aint getting any notifications on the lock screen even though enabled ? they show when i use the drop down bar in the menu.

Can't get my phone to restore

I was in fact referring to the many, many people who now have unusable phones stuck in recovery mode, of which my Mrs is one, not a happy bunny.

I can see their support lines being jammed tomorrow that's for sure.

uh oh. gone into recovery mode. trying to restore but keep getting the 3XXX error codes

Same here, it won't allow a restore to IOS 4.3? it only has an option to update + restore to IOS 5

It extracts the update then instantly errors

I just did my mum's iPod Touch 4th Gen, got the 3200 error so I just rebooted her laptop. Worked 2nd time round with no problems.

Still getting the 3200 error. Oh well, I'll have 1 or 2 more attempts and then leave it for tonight.

Can the same update be used for the iPad or does that require a separate download?

I'm going to leave it till tomorrow, the servers must be getting hammered. It seems to contact the apple servers twice, a few times I have been lucky to get through the first check then it puts the phone in recovery mode and then checks again with apple this time I get chucked out with the internal error error!
