***The iOS 5 Thread***

Damn iTunes wiped out everything! Lost all my contacts, all my apps and all my media! Absolutely seething! My god I hate iTunes!
Indeed, I updated my iPhone no problem hours ago and yet it continually freezes and hangs on me. POS software lets what is a superb phone down really

:( killed me phone, won't update, wiped it, now it won't restore keeps coming up with 3xxx errors or just unable to restore gah

Well after multiple attempts to update my phone ended up in restore mode. Tried a few more times with more fails and now its just stuck with a blank screen cycling between the loading sign and the apple symbol. Meh

Apple had better sort this quickly or there going to have a lots of unhappy customers, I mean look at how many people are having problems in this thread alone

I just tried downloading itunes 10.5 on my laptop and it wouldnt install the 32bit version, now I had the 32bit version on my desktop and just updated it, im gonna try installing the 64bit version on my desktop just to see....

I think my issue was that my phone was too full to take a restore, but because I wasn't able to restore, I couldn't delete anything to free up space in order to restore, so I was stuck in a loop.

Now I have a backup partially restored but I'm minus around 400 photographs that I had assumed were backed up. I don't want to lose those.

I'm going to let it finish but then when I get my iPhone4S which is four times the size, I'm going to pull the backup file from Time Machine and see if I can restore it onto the 4S.

Anyone know where backup files are stored on OS X?

~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Blackup All the hashed files etc are in there.

Just removed every thing itunes related and I'm still getting the error

'Could not open key;

I cba updating it even if I get Itunes to install now seeing as people are getting errors all the time. /:

same as me :/

I managed to get it out of the loop by doing this

While connected to the computer...

Hold down Home and Power for 10 seconds

Release Power Button, but keep holding home

Wait...

Your phone will then be in DFU mode and iTunes will recognize it.
