*** The iPhone 3G S Thread - All iPhone 3G S Related Stuff In Here ***

YAH my 16gb white just arrived, i've left it charging for a few hours then i will insert the sim and start having a play. I'm too scared to take the protective film off incase i smuge the screen :p
 
My iphone 8gig 3g is a bit of a mess to be honest - but the screens alright, it works and a few scratches on the back of it dont distract from my user experience, where as a bulky case in my opinion does.
I can't wait till the sucessor to the 3gs - hopefully its something special.

2 Questions

1) How do i put it on silent?
2) How do i transfer all my numbers from my k800i to my iphone? (I thought they were on my sim but guess not)

1) slide the button on the side above the volume buttons to red
2) Plug k800i into PC, use SE software to save number to outlook or similar and then import using itunes

OR 2) copy all numbers from phone to SIM and then import from SIM on iPhone

Ha i was just coming on to edit my post as i realised how to do it all :D

My phone keeps connecting to either 3G, or 'E' (which i guess is EDGE) depending on where i am in the house.

Great, I cannot believe it, 34 days after having my iPhone it breaks and now the o2 store want £139 because apparently it's water damage and I can honestly say that's impossible, was in a full case and had a screen protector and I've never looked after something so attentively :mad:
 
I think my iphone just broke

updating to 3.1 i have the 'usb connection pointing to itunes' on my iphone and yet when i plug it in it comes up with 'contacting the iphone update server' and then 'the ipod software update server could not be contacted???'
and tehre is nothing i can do, i won't go off that screen even if i unplug etc???

That's really unfortunate... Are you sure someone didn't drop it down the toilet and not tell you?

FFS i still can't get it to work, my iphone turns off/on but the only screen i get is the 'connect to itunes' screen'.

I have searched the web and flushed my dns/resinstalled itunes/removed firewall etc etc and yet i still get 'could not connect to ipod server' or something similiar...ARGH

i updated to 3.0 yesterday??????
 
rang 02 - they said ring apple - apple arnt open till 8am FFS

What the hell am i ment to do? Had this phone just over a day, go to update to 3.1 and it downloads the update then freezes on the whole 'connect to itunes screen' then when i plug it in it comes up with 'could not connect to updates server' or something along those lines and i CANNOT move it from that screen, i can;t restore it or restart it etc :@
 
Is this phone a brand new one or 2nd hand. Never had this prob myself and had all iPhone and never had this prob. U sure u did not pull cable while updating. Have u tried a hard reset? Hold down home button while pressing power button till u see apple logo
