How do you get that? I have only just got mine, so am playing with it a lot, but I can barely get a day! Are there any tips to get more from the battery?

Do a Hard Reset
Calibrate Battery
Wifi 3G off When Not Using it.
Brightness set to around 30% (I set it below the "B" of Brightness)
Turn of Push Notifications
Turn Off Location Services

first bill just came through

£231.40

Let me say that again

£231.40

OMG

£160 for the phone
£33 for the tariff
£6.50 for going over my limit
£30vat

Barring the £6.50 being over the limit was you expecting anything different. :p

I am starting to get a bit worried about my 3GS contract, upgraded early with O2 from the 3G but am yet to be billed for anything 3 months down the line.

"Sounds like one of those good problems"

You might get away with it. They forgot to take off my £15 a month discount when I moved to sim only. Saved a packet for about 14 months

Last night I realized just how rubbish our contracts are and just how much this phone is costing me!

Paid £169 for the 16GB 3G (at launch) and £35 p/m.
Then June 19 this year I bought the 32GB 3GS handset for £538 (sold the 16GB 3G on envirofone but didn't get much due to "damaged microphone") and put my £35 p/m contract sim in.... remember the contracts were 18 months, so a 3G launch contract is until January 2010.

So to date thats £169 + £490 + £538 - £140 = £1057. :eek::(:eek::(

She got a new phone this week. Is pink and does all she wants it to. 300 minutes and unlimited texts for £15 p/m. What am I getting for £35 p/m? 600 minutes and 500 texts.:(:(

You seriously didnt add this all up before you bought it?

Total cost of contract will actually be

£169 + £630 + £538 = £1337 (£1197)

Only way I think I'll even consider it, is by going PAYG. Then I can get £100 back on my current phone, £100 cashback on the contract and £30-40 cashback on the handset, making the overall cost a lot more respectable, but still expensive.

Oh yeah, I knew it was gonna cost a fair bit and I can afford it :).

Post was made just because she was over last night and had her new phone and said that she's getting 300 minutes and unlimited texts for £15 p/m and didn't pay much for the handset, and she jokingly said "and what are you getting for your £35 :p".... "and how much did you pay for the phone :p"..... it made me think :(.

*** Lay off the insults ***

It clearly says in his post he sold his 3G, thus he did not make a loss of £630 but £490.

Did you miss the bit at the end of his sums with the -£140 and thus (£1197) in brackets? What did you think I put it there for?

The £490 in his sums is his total monthly payments TO DATE.

Have another  Keep it up.

What phone does she have? Gonna assume the iPhone is a lot nicer.

Yeah, the tariffs are pretty shocking really. It saddens me that o2 dont offer better value for money when people are spending a lot of money with them, but I guess they can charge what they want!
