Im not sure if a new iphone is the way foward once my contract is up in Dec. Seeing as the competition has cought up on core features (mainly what i use plus the odd app i wont miss), im not sure i can justify the price.

Still far behind on user-interface though. My brother-in-law works for Nokia now (he's worked for Motorola and S-E over the last few years) and even he still says that the front end of the iPhone is far superior to anything else. He works on designing phones and I've seen a few of the engineering samples from Motorola which never reached the market, quite interesting.

Trying to update iPhone to 3.1 but get an error in iTunes saying backup failed. Had a quick look on the net but no joy. Anyone heard of this problem? I've re-install iTunes 9 again but same error.

Phew, your lucky... updating to 3.1 will leave you with no jailbreak possible on a windows platform.

Stay with 3.0 its the only way to be safe :)

Who else got theirs from mobiles.co.uk using the Quidco cashback? Really cheesed off with mobiles.co.uk right now, first they mucked up getting the order out in time and now, when quidco tracked the cashback at only £40, not £60 they've come back to the query through claiming that an iPhone 3Gs contract wasn't taken out (when it most certainly was).

Anyone else managed to get the right amount tracked?
