Apparently they altered the 'warmth' the 3g screen. This results in whites looking yellow.
 
So if I go into the shop tomorrow with both phones to show them they wont be able to exchange the phone or show me one that isnt yellow? It looks horrible!

Anyone got URLs where to get invisible shields? Bought one for v1 from USA and cost m £4, worked perfectly but lost URL :/
 
I need an Invisible Shield too..... URL would be nice :)

I feel dirty having bought a v1 iPhone after I had criticised it so much in the past for being "less than it could be". I have a somewhat valid excuse though - I have a smartphone for work that I use on business, the iPhone is just my text/chat/web plaything.
 
If you've got a yellow tinge screen, just restore your phone with the latest firmware. It'll then go away.
 
Restored it to factory default, and restored to backed up and both do the same :/

If every screen is like this then looks like I'll get used to it, jsut annoying as it looks funny to me at the moment
 
Well well well, FINALLY got mine tonight.

1x16GB Black 3G iPhone.

Pretty gutted to be told by a girl in Apple that only new customers can have the 16GB White version? and also no upgrades can be done instore and referred me to O2?

Fuss over and done, home and all sorted.

Pretty damn happy with the extra space!

Thats for american versions though? I don't have either of those firmware version numbers. (Even before I updated to 2.0.1)

You should have.

345 was the firmware 2.0 version the 3G iPhones shipped with and 347 was the firmware 2.0 that was available from iTunes at launch.

If you've got something different where did you get it from?
 
Oh, I was looking at the wrong bit. I probably did have one of those firmwares, but it doesn't matter now as I have 5B108.
 
Second iPhone 3G.. second problem :mad:

1) Dust under glass

2) Light leaking from left side of the screen (roughly adjacent to volume rocker switch).

Getting my THIRD tomorrow.

I urge those with the light leaking issue to report it so it can be recognised as a fault.

  • Pick up phone to head height
  • Activate screen / turn on phone
  • Tilt phone at 40-45 degrees
  • Look at the edge of the screen (left side)

If you can see the light, get a replacement (or a refund)
 
I've been examining my phone under a 400x microscope at work today. My vibrate/ringer switch on the top left has a fracture at the join... :/
 
I'm considering on buying a 3G iPhone on the bay. Can these be jailbreaked/unlocked to allow my payasugo o2 sim?
