Thankfully, mine is fine now.. actually went back to full strength after I screenshott'd

Or if it's not fixable they'll pretend there's nothing wrong and ship out the revision without saying anything.

Glad I missed the boat on this one (through choice). I've really wanted one but between poor 3g, battery time and features that are still missing (copy and paste being one) my temptation hasn't grown any.

That and the original iPhone looked better as a piece of hardware, imo.

Unlock means you can use it with another carrier, such as T-Mobile.

Jailbreaking is so you can install applications outside the jurisdiction or control of Apple.

Ah right, not bothered with unlocking it happy with leaving it on O2.

So the apps are just like third party apps, not supported by apple that apple dont want you to use?

Can you jailbreak this v2 now?

It's not that Apple don't want you to use them or that they're necessarily illegal, just unlike the Appstore, they have no control over them.

That's a good and a bad thing as the apps will be useful but perhaps not of the standard Apple expect. I imagine, although I've heard of a load of crashes, that the Apps on the Appstore fit a certain level of quality control, at least cosmetically.

I think v2 can be broken although there are some updates just after v2 which change the baseband or something - which may make unlocking/jailbreaking a thing of the past. I think that's the case anyway, I've been a bit out of the loop.

they should offer all paid apps on a demo basis. There are apps out there that cost £60 quid and I have bought my fair share for £5.99 that I am displeased with.
Even if its a matter of you have 10mins to try this app before you must either pay for it or it will be automatically removed. and iTunes wont be able to copy it until the app is green cleared/paid for.

Fstop, sounds like a very good idea to me. Would shoot Apple an email with that, it's something they would consider if they're not already.

I'm assuming the Pay as you Go iPhone is going to be the big Christmas item for Apple this year?

Cheers guys, so with a jailbroken phone can you get the apps for free?

I put some tunes on my iphone last night to have a play, using my laptop. Just setup my pc and installed itunes, I want to delete all music on my iphone and start again. Tried connecting the phone to my laptop and pc, all the music is greyed out, so I cant delete it. How can I delete it?

I think most jailbroken apps are free. I'm sure there are some that are pay per use.

It sounds like you have it synced. Go to the iPhone in iTunes and see if 'Manually manage my music/videos' (something similar) is checked. If it isn't, check it and you should be able to rock and roll.

Is anyone elses 3g connection ropey? I've had to drop to edge to make of work better and I'm currently stood in lincolns inn fields, holborn, London!

I couldn't even get service in and around London yesterday evening. I've no idea what was going on there. Three reboots of the phone failed to have any affect but it eventually sorted itself out.

I was trying to send a few emails out at the time and those just vanished into thin air :/

I am currently downloading Batman Begins through Itunes. Is it usually so slow? Its showing 16 hours!!

I have a good 8mb connections and usually get 500k-700k downloads.

I am new to itunes so do not have any previous experience. Just wanted to try the movie on my new iphone.
