Anyone use their iPhone 3G naked? How durable is it? I cant seem to find a case that I like. Those invisible shield protectors would be perfect but I cant for the life of me install them properly! Any professional installers about? :p

Mines not scratched on the screen, only lightly on the back. I use it as a phone not an ornament.

That'd be my sentiment. It's a tool, you might as well use it rather than wrapping it up because you're thinking about selling it before you've even used it.

It'll last you 18 months, then you'll replace it. Who cares if it gets a couple of scratches on the plastic in the process? I'd rather have that than have a bulky phone because of some sort of rubber protection round it all in the name of making a few more quid when you replace it.

I've had my v1 iPhone for a while, and haven't got any on the screen. It's been thrown on the floor a fair few times, so I'd say it was fairly durable.

Ive seen some proper massive screen potectors too. They ruin the look of the phone.

Those screen films are crap too. Mate had one on his and the screen was a lot less sensitive, the image was slightly blurred and it felt horrible.

I need to get mine changed though, the home button has gone funny and doesnt click, but the main problem is that my 3G is broke. Cant get a signal.

Theres a cover you can get to go over the screen, my mate had one, its just a clear cover that covers the front of the phone which helps a lot..

Costs like £10 on the bay.

Helps what?

The screen is virtually scratchproof in my experience.

Indeed. My sister keeps hers in a handbag full of crap - no scratches. Hers has flown down some stairs - got a dent in the metal, but the screen's fine.

Some berk walked into me while I was looking at google maps, and mine went flying 2 metres and landed face down in the road. No scratch on the screen, just a slight scratch to the chrome bezel.

The lady at the o2 shop said she was ready to hand in her notice as one slipped out of her hands down some stairs at store not long after she had started working there.

Does anyone else have issues connecting to WiFi??

Whenever i try to connect to the wifi in my house i just get the error "unable to join the network" [SSID]

Anyone seen that before? I have tried getting the iPhone to forget the network and rejoin it. I have also put in a static ip but still nuffin.

Got MAC address security on your home network?

I had problems connecting my iPhone to my home network, once I gave it the SSID (it's hidden) it would find it but refuse to work. Had a look around online and it turned out that the channel my Linksys was broadcasting on was too wide for the iPhone, so changing the router to Standard Band (instead of Wide Band) made it work.

Had the fright of my life this morning when the phone hard locked up on the call screen/app. Holding down the power button didn't do anything nor did holding down the Home key.

Finally later I remembered that holding down the Home+Power Key did something so I tried it and the phone rebooted and all was fine :o
