I've currently got a 2g iphone I bought in April when they did the offer, I'm with o2 and am contemplating getting the 3g.

couple of q's.

What versions are the black and white ones, as in can you get both in 8gb or 16b or is one or the other.

Am I right in thinking I can just restore my current backups onto the new phone? My current one is jailbroken etc so I hope that wouldnt cause an issue?

Oh and roughly how much do 2nd hand 2g 8gb iphones go for on auction sites? By what I can see it looks around the £150 to £200 range. Mine has a couple of scratches on the back but otherwise OK.

White is 16Gb only.

I'm not positive, but I doubt very much you could restore a 2G backup to a 3G. No reason why you can't re-sync everything and re-load your applications via iTunes though.

Actually by restore I just meant contacts and calendar, so re-sync I guess I meant, the rest I'm not fussed about.

And thanks for the confirmation on 2nd hand price :p I guess i should have seen that coming.
 
Can someone clear this up for me? I'm playing music, phone calls on loud speaker etc and only one of the two speakers is working. When playing music and texting for instance if my finger covers the one speaker that is playing its completely muted and i cannot hear a thing! Do both your speakers work when playing music etc?
 
WTF - when did the iPhone3G get 2 speakers? Did you get a limited edition one ;)

P.S. The other speaker is a microphone - I dont own one, yet even I sadly know that :(. It was only asked only 2 pages ago and answered on the last one :p

They stopped the O2 Select scheme a month or two back and ave set this up, basically Silver is pretty standard, over £50 a month spend is Gold level (which Select was before) and then over £80 is platinum.

I've not had a text tho...

IF one was going to buy a PAYG iphone from o2 on monday with the intention of sticking a contract vodafone sim in it, what would one need to do in order to get it up and running?

I own a pc.

The loan agreement (contract) will be in your name for the duration of the contract as you signed for it. Unless you mean buying the contract phone, then pass it to someone else with them taking on the contract? I don't know if that can be done, imagine all those people trying this, it'll be a farce.
 
I already have a 3G, I wouldn't want another contract to my name. I was hoping you could buy a voucher maybe.

It would be nice to hand over the phone as a gift but I suppose I wouldn't be allowed out the shop without signing something. It's for my other half. She wants the phone but isnt in a position to pay for the handset fee so I want to do that for her as a surprise.

Has anyone ever used 'iPhone Ringtone Converter'?

Ive been trying to use it to make some ringtones, but even though the app has 'transfer to iPhone button' that only works when the phone is plugged in, it doesnt appear to anything but dump the converted file on the desktop.
Yet it 'think's its wacked it on the iPhone? Even asks to overwrite if i try again...

So im wondering what it is that its doing...? As it doesnt appear on the iPhone.

Im theorising that the iPhone must be connected for it to initiate a sync command within iTunes, and that the files actually import into iTunes.
But i havnt tested.

Chances of it dumping some stuff in an unknown location on the iphone...?

What is the cheapest I can get an iPhone for? I have my contract paid by my company, so guess I am looking at PAYG?
