I still don't get it though - the iPhone's locked to O2. You're not going to stop using O2, and if you keep the phone for 18 months, then you'll've paid exactly the same you would have done if you'd gone for the 18 month contract. Plus £400 for the phone.

If you're planning on keeping the phone for 11 months. 11 x £35 + £400 = £790.

If you'd had an 18 month contract. 18 x £35 + £159 = £784.

Same price, but that's another 5 month's worth of airtime paid for. :confused:
 
Quick Question, not read this thread in 2 months and it's gone to 100 pages.

Q - I have a First gen iPhone, running jailed breaked ziphoned 1.1.4 firmware running on Orange sim. Is there an update to that now for firmware 2.1 and where can i find a guide to install it? I am running windows XP on my PC.

I want to try out the app store :)
 
Just been looking at the new Blackberry Storm today and although I'm not even considering jacking in my 02 contract (which I couldn't do even if I wanted to) and getting one it has made me realise that I'm just a little bored with my iPhone so are there any rumours/news as to when the iPhone version 3 will be released and what we can expect from it?
 
The only thing I've read so far is that an upgrade to a 32Gb capacity is looking possible in January.

I've just bought my 3G this weekend and was looking into whether to wait for the next version, but couldn't see anything to indicate a totally new version was coming soon.

Anyone experienced really slow apps on the 3G iPhone that has it jailbroken or not?
Mine is jailbroken and some apps, even standard ones inc sms.app open really slow!

Running 2.1 jailbroken and a friend is running 2.1 standard and has no problems, is it JB it thats done it?
 
ok, now with 2.1 on my 1st Gen iphone now.

HAve a problem with Winterboard, it won't let me use custom wallpaper when using the Damino theme, i want Damino icons but my own wallpaper, except it only shows the Damino default wallpaper even when use rwallpaper is selected.


Also, installed the remote, put in the passcode in itunes but the iphone still says could not find library ?? :(

Drag 'user wallpaper' above/on top of damino in the winterboard menu :)

Saurik is just a partial theme. Changes the dock background and the unlock string text (slide to saurik or something?). Not aware of any user guides unfortunately, most of the default items are fairly self-explanatory though!
 
Question about BT Openzone Wifi (That we're supposed to get free as o2 iPhone customers and i have been for a while).. I updated to 2.1 and now it's asking me for login information, yet i swear to McVities cookies i only had to put my phone number in originally?
