I still don't get it though - the iPhone's locked to O2. You're not going to stop using O2, and if you keep the phone for 18 months, then you'll've paid exactly the same you would have done if you'd gone for the 18 month contract. Plus £400 for the phone.
If you're planning on keeping the phone for 11 months. 11 x £35 + £400 = £790.
If you'd had an 18 month contract. 18 x £35 + £159 = £784.
Same price, but that's another 5 month's worth of airtime paid for.
