*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

I take it that you wanted the £45 contract then.

Yeah going to keep it on that tariff for a few months then reduce it to the £35 p.m. I will most likely phone them tomorrow ask what the situation is re this order.

I HAVE MY TRACKING NUMBER!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D

All those who ordered with O2 and had similar troubles to myself may want to check their orders.

Still no e-mail what so ever from them though.

yo everyone... i work for a phone shop... got a delivery come today and got myself a demo iphone 3g.. got it in my hand right now its a lot better then the old one. it doesnt feel as bulky as the old one and the back has a nice smooth finish to it. I gotta say im impressed with the 3G coverage with o2 i never use to get edge coverage where i live but i now get 3G coverage... with the 3G coverage i can watch youtube fine.. the internet is a lot quicker too.

The gps is brilliant with google maps.

Theres a few downfall still but dont wanna spoil it for everyone :) but it is a lot better then the old one

Not sure how big the demand will be at my local store, I wonder if i pitch up at 7:30 whether I should be ok or not!

The dude i spoke to yesterday on the phone at O2 just phoned me. He said yesterday he would check my order when he came in and phoned me, didn#t believe him tbh, so much Kudos to the dude for doing it.
But anyway, he seems to think i will be getting my phone today????

I am trying to keep an eye on the DHL web site to see if it changed to loaded onto van so i can get my old dear to sit in my house lol

I see the upgrade link has been removed for existing iPhone owners. Unless I missed it?

*Whoops misread the original post relating to store stock. Please ignore me, it's early!

Guys I didn't get an answer earlier regarding the iphone...

Do you think I should queue up to get one tomorrow morning, or should I wait until I get back off holiday in a couple of weeks and get one then?

I'm in no rush, however when I get back off holiday my contract will have run out on my phone and I will be phoneless, which is okay for 1 day, but no good if the iphone is out of stock.

It says on http://www.o2.co.uk/iphone

That
If you do go into an O2 store you will need 2 forms of identification, a valid credit or debit card and proof of address. If you are new to O2 you will also need to pass a credit check if you sign up for an iPhone 3G contract. The average sales transaction processing time will be 20 minutes.

Does it matter about the name on the proof of address , I pay for my Contract but it's in my Dads name, as i didnt have enough forms of ID 2 years ago when i set it up :(

Or just to be safe should i try and get O2 to change the name on the contract ?

Same here, got the email this morning. I havent done anything since Monday so I thought it had been lost.

I have a tracking number but cant see me getting it tomorrow:

"Your order is still being processed and, if accepted, should be despatched to you within the next 5 days. Any iPhone 3G orders will be delivered on or after 11th July.

We'll email or send you an SMS to confirm when your order has been accepted and despatched so that you'll know when to expect your delivery. You will need to sign for the delivery, but don't worry if you're not in, the courier will leave you details to rearrange delivery."
