Depends if your O2 shop is likely to be busy. O2 have changed their web site to say their shops are only getting a coupe dozen or so each.

O2 and Carphone Warehouse (CPW) stores will have limited numbers of iPhone 3G this Friday 11 July.

On average, we will only have a few dozen iPhone 3Gs per store (some stores more, some stores less, dependant upon store size so we expect to sell out quickly). Sales of iPhone 3G will be limited to one per customer and two for business customers.

Yeah I saw that too, but what I mean is after the initial rush from tomorrow, will there be plenty in stock in a month or so?
 
Just spoke to a few CPW stores and apparently they've 'been let down massively' and are only getting 8 8GB and ONE 16GB!
 
still dont get how the online ordering is working???

are you lot getting home delivery having to go into the store to sign stuff? or is it online?
 
I called my local o2 store today, they are going to be able to fulfill some orders OUTSIDE of the Pre-Orders so I'm going to get down there tomorrow and see what happens....

then you had better get on the carphone warehouse website now.

CPW have these available for delivery tomorrow.

Just ordered a 16gig for store pickup tomorrow. They had ~4000 units for pre-order. Those went in a few hours. They have just taken a massive delivery and are infact taking orders for delivery tomorrow.

Go go go :)

i wanted to get one online originally but it didn't ever really seem possible, must have missed all the windows...

i just wanna go wherever the best chance of getting one is... my options are:

• local o2 store (small town store) - might have very small stock levels
• o2 birmingham - might be too busy being the second biggest city
• apple birmingham - i'm sure you wouldn't be able to get within 10 miles of the bugger

what would you all advise? i'm thinking the best play would be going to the local one at about 7:30?
 
Yay my order is now complete... the My o2 page has also been updated, see all my details plus I see my new phone number (Im a new customer).

Now just gotta keep an eye on the DHL tracking number :)
 
yep, can confirm. Just placed an order (10:35 ish) for delivery tomorrow (store pickup). Apparently they sold their 4000 pre-orders in a few hours, and have just taken delivery of a large number of units.

EDIT: did this over the phone btw, didnt use the website

did mine by phone as well but i was lucky to get one as i had a missed call on my mobile which was withheld so i thought it might of been the CPW as i have been waiting for someone to call me all week so i called them and they said they had just started taking orders otherwise i would have been none the wiser.
