*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

I'm nervous that even though he said I'd 100% have one tomorrow and that it was reserved, I'll get there to a bit queue and they'll sell it. It opens at 9 (which makes me think that either people who've not been successful at the 8.02 openings might go to it, or nobody will bother) so I'm gonna get there for around 8-8.30 just in case.

On another note, how long do you have to charge the iphone for first time around? I HATE that part about getting new phones / Ipods!
 
Gah! My mate is being a right nobber.

I originally said i was going to sell him my old iPhone for £100, then he tried to barter with me yesterday saying he would be willing to pay £90.

I then went off to ebay to have a look at what they were going for, low and behold there going for £200+. Now, i originally wanted the 8GB which is why i was going to sell for £100, but now i'm feeling flush and want the best so thought why not go for the 16GB.

Now that my mate has got me looking at ebay and me seeing them for £200+ i feel as though i should up the price to £160 at least. I asked him if he would pay £160 and he said no and the highest he would go is £130. But frankly A. I want the 16Gb, B. i'm being a good mate and selling for still an awesome price of £160 and C. Unlocking and doing everything for him.

May have to go the ebay route of find someone who wants one if he won't plump for £160. Doesn't look like i'm getting a 3G tomorrow then...

Don't you start lol. Work starts at 07:45 for me, so I'm in town near CPW at around 07:00. It'll be awfully tempting to pop over to CPW just to see if the place is open at that time!
 
DHL have mine at the moment \o/

I had a suspicion I was going to miss out because I ordered from O2 around lunchtime on the 7th I think it was with no probs with the site at all, it was just stuck on 'in progress' for days. Altho I was never going to fail the Credit/Security check, I figured I may have missed the boat as you guys on here were all saying you ordered pretty early doors.

Exciting times, Ive got a ropey old Motorola Razr (I think) at the moment. :>

Damn, not sure I can be bothered with all this. I'm going to go to my local o2 store for just before 9 in the morning. If there's a massive queue then sod it, I'm off home thanks to having no work tomorrow. It's only a damn phone, can't believe people are queueing up already.

TBH get it on ebay mate. Mine went within 30 mins last week with a buy in now of £260. Get it on ebay ASAP and get max profit, you will get 200 minimum.

I've decided.. I'll pop in to town tomorrow morning before work and see how 02 are looking.

It has the benefit of having a CPW directly opposite.. so if 02 sell out I'll be running across the road at high speed.

Decided not to chance waiting 2 weeks incase stock is low (+ my boss is off work = win)

Anyone going down to the 02 shop in Swansea.. get out of my way, I'm packing heat.
 
Switching to iPhone and PACs

Hi there,

I'm planning to go into the 02 shop tomorrow and get a 16GB iPhone. Whoopee! :D

The thing is, I've been with my current network for almost 10 years and I like it. I want to see if 02 reception and service is good and make sure I really like the iPhone before I totally commit. I don't change phones very often, so this is a big step for me (creature of habit = crap consumer).

So I'm thinking of buying the iPhone, trying it out and then porting over my number using my PAC code if I really like it, otherwise I'll take it back within 14 days.

The woman in the shop today said that I need to port the number over at activation or not at all. The site says differently.

What do you guys think/ know about this?

Mine and my girlfriends 16GB iPhone orders from the Carphone Warehouse website earlier seem to have now completed and been despatched (to the store I guess as that what we asked). After sorting out the security issues on the phone the guy said they should be at the store by 1pm so I'm glad it all went through. How is everyone else who placed orders on the CPW website doing?
 
I spoke to a guy from the Carphone Warehouse on the phone earlier and he said you can port the number over at any time by calling O2 customer service.

mines on the way to selected store. guess i'll go pick mine up in the afternoon as no point in going early if the phone isnt there yet
 
Anyone know or think that I will need to rush down to the Trafford Centre tomorrow morning?

Just been saying 'yea i'm gonna go' but now I think about it, the Trafford Centre doesn't open its doors till 10am?

This means, perhaps people will be allowed in at 9am?

:confused: - because mum said she would take me, but will I be queuing outside in the cold @ 7-8am?
 
I'll be trying the o2 shop on Cheapside/Bow Lane in London from around 7:30am tomorrow. Not the end of the world if I don't get one, will be interesting to see how many other sad people like me will be queuing up :P
