*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

Just returned from CPW and lo and behold, more pathetic but predictable news.

This time I pretended that I made out that I was a new customer and wanted an iphone. The SA was more then happy to help out, then I said I was really an existing customer on O2 and wanted to upgrade to it. The SA's facial expression changed totally.

I was told that there were 400 in stock but he wasn't allowed (surprise thar) to order any for me. Then he said there was computer problems (yes, like the past 2 days). So he's given me the CPW Custy service number to ring up.

Gonna try and get a PAC now. I've only been with them for 1yr and a single experience has made sick and tired of the sods already.

Mine is now with City Link and apparently will be here on Monday. Oh and this is after being told by CPW tracking that there is absolutely no way it will be despatched today. By that time a few complaint letters will be at the CPW offices too, hehe.

But then i have the orange contract plus the new o2 contract!

And? So you pay more for a couple of months, then terminate the Orange contract. Unless you're skint then there's still nothing stopping you from having an iPhone. Depends on how much you want an iPhone really!

Phoned up CPW and requested a PAC. They obviously panicked, so I gave them an explanation that their store CS is carp and won't let me upgrade. All of a sudden they have iphones in stock, well 8gb ones. So mine will be delivered on Monday via City Link.

I ordered a 8gb from the Carphone Warehouse website earlier (when they had them in stock), I received the order confirmation email but haven't heard anything since. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear any new information?

Is anyone else having bluetooth issues with their iPhone 3G? When I switch it on via the settings menu it seems to turn itself on then below says "Searching for Devices" but finds non of my other mobiles or PC ??? it never seems to stop searching either lol.

My other phones sometimes pick up the iphone but its very hit and miss if they do and I have yet to actually send/recieve anything succsefully......?? Is this a fault with my phone?

I didnt think you could send/receive files using the bluetooth. I thought it was only there to pair headsets too etc.

Any updates on when the Geotagging of photos will be fixed? It asks to use location services but doesn't actually put any location info in the tags of the photos...

You can't use it for data transfer.

I has put GPS coordinates in most of my photos. Import them into Google's Picasa and then go to "Tools > Geotag > View in Google Earth..." and you will see them appear where you took them.

Quite cool, this is some pics I took on a recent visit to an Otter and Owl Sanctuary in the New Forest:
