*** The iPhone 3G Thread ***

At work i get no 3g at all... and there is a 3g transmitter over the road. Is there something wrong with this phone as 3g is just not at all what it should be.

Forget Ikea, look's like a straight day trip to London headed for Regent Street.

I'll phone ahead to make sure but from what people have said they never run out of stock...

Fingers crossed i guess, it's a two hour train journey.

They were out of stock of the 16gb Black last Wednesday by lunchtime.

But saying that, they seem to be getting them in everyday and I'd imagine the rush might have died down at least a little bit by now. Though talking to the guy who sold me my iPhone, he seemed to think if things kept up, it wouldn't be long before everyone in London had one.

I was in there today, at about 7:00pm the queue was at least 30 people long. I really wanted to run past waiving my iPhone in their faces :(

Good luck getting one, and be prepared to queue for a while.

That's longer than when I qued for mine a week ago!

If you want too I could go into the Apple store in Manchester tomorrow and pretend to want one untill you arrived? :D

"Could you just get me one in a box? I'de like to have a little look at it"

*2 hours later*

"Yeah it's nice.. That's why i already have one.. This guy wants one though!"

After using my phone normally for a few days, it now gives me... no service. great.

all fixed now... i needed to put in the new sim, which o2/cpw dont actually tell you to do, they tell you to put the old one in!

Twinkle and Tap Tap Revenge are both amazing apps

Twinkle really does make great use of the location services too, been using it loads of the last few days and met quite a few cool people

I didn't get a new sim at all, they told me on the 2nd time of ringing that i've to put the old sim card in.
iPhone is working, but 3g signal isn't the best.

Got an odd problem.

Got my phone on Monday and lobbed my pay monthly O2 sim in as you do. It immediately worked with 3G reception etc. Tuesday was fine too. As of this morning though I have NO SERVICE displayed. Is it because CPW are switching me to the higher £45 a month tariff? I'm at work atm and can't really phone to ask.

Edit; Just got home and checked my account on the CPW website...

My 8Gb iPhone 3G should be waiting for me at home this time tomorrow. :D

I have spent hours mulling over what case to get it, I decided that I didnt want to wack it in a great big plastic case so opted for a Zagg invisible shield which turned up today. Just how fiddly are these things to put on? Im usually useless with these sorts of things and end up making a mess. Will give it a try though. Seem to read mix reviews everywhere I look.

Same here - didn't get a new sim card. I just stuck my old one in it. Took a while to activate in iTunes on release day but all sorted now and loving it so far.

I got my iPhone on Monday and lobbed my old sim into it and it worked fine, until this (Wednesday) morning.

All day I've had No Service on mine. So I just got home and rang up CPW. The kind lady told me to bin my old sim and use the one in the box, which has the same number - I assumed it had a new number so avoided it. I tried that and it indeed contained my old number so I'm Ok now.
