Store staff in Solihull say that there will be no sales on launch weekend for anyone without a resevation.

Collecting mine from there on Friday :)

The one thing I'm still not sure about with the 7 is the home button. It's a big change and I don't know how well it's going to work or what it'll feel like compared to the buttons of old. I'm kind of surprised that so little has been written about it, especially by those who've managed to play with one. Everyone still seems too busy frothing at the mouth about the lack of headphone jack.

It would have been a big deal to me if it was the first time Apple were changing to the taptic engine. I've tried out the MBP touchpad and I honestly can't believe how well it works. It's a weird feeling when you turn the laptop off and try and "click". I'm sure the home button will work just as well.

Finding the poll results rather interesting.

Find the numbers claiming the headphone jack was a deal-breaker frankly unbelievable. I suspect many of these people were swayed by other factors too.

Also surpised there's so little love for the Gold & Rose Gold options. I thought Gold was quite popular but obviously not. My current 5S is gold and I quite like it.

Maybe the fact that so little has been written about it is an indication that it "just works". Here's hoping.

I know many will be relieved as the home button was often a point of failure. I don't buy that it was advantageous for water resistance however, just as I don't buy that as a reason for the headphone jack removal. The S7 slightly beats the iPhone for water resistance and stil has a headphone jack.

small phone still has some, 7+ didn't have any in any colour when i checked. I'm told if you go to a store on friday they will sell off reserved phones as the reserve time passes.

It doesn't click when it is off? I have a mbp but have never tried. It feels like a proper mechanical click.

It doesn't actually click. It's the taptic feedback making you believe it's actually clicking. You got trickz0rd :p

So my my iphone7 says it'll be dispatched in 6-8 days, but shipment says delivery 27 Sep - 29. If it's dispatched in 6-8 days which is next Thursday, why should it take another 12 days to deliver? Is it not next day delivery?

Yep. Guess it's just a way of spreading out the payments (even if you don't upgrade after 12 months)

Im probably missing something so apologies if so;

1) It seems to be a 24 month contract, not 20 months?

2) It also appears to be at minimum in effect a 36 month contract.

(you have to be in the program for 12 months before you upgrade, and once you upgrade you effectively re-start a new 24 month contract - and of course scrap the remaining 12 months on original contract)

So just to get one upgrade cycle - and remember no sooner than basically a year from now, ie just when iPhone 8 is probably released , you are paying between $30-$45 per month for 36 months - so just over $1000......which will probably be £1000 in the UK knowing most technology firms.

The annoying thing (apart from having to wait the initial 12 months before the upgrade happens) for me is I'm right at the end of my contract so the phone is effectively mine already. I would love to do this without waiting that initial 12 months.

How long do I pay this monthly fee?

When you sign up, you're contracted with Apple (and its loan partner, Citizens Bank) for 24 months (two years). You can upgrade to the next-generation iPhone after only 12 months of payment; when you do so, you're essentially renewing your 24-month hardware contract with Apple (and Citizens).

This appears to suggest every initial contract for apple care is 36 months - but as above I may be missing something.

Headphone jack is not a deal breaker for me but price is. I just simply can not justify the cost anymore.

I have been buying iPhones since the 3G but I will have to reconsider.

No, it's definitely only lasts 24 months. You restart the contract at 12 months if you upgrade.

@HAz.. Go to NHS discounts or whichever NHS discount site he's registered with (free to register) and they are on there.

Anyone preorder from ee and heard nothing ?
Not an answer to your question but I was speaking to EE corporate yesterday and she said they had a queue of over 20,000 people on the phones trying to preorder

Thats the whole point - you have to be IN the program for 12 months before you can upgrade, and then the contract re-starts at 0 -24 months.

That appears to be the deal anyway

(ie you enter the program today with a 24 month contract with your current phone, then in Sep 2017 you are eligble for an upgrade where if you take that option you start a new 24 month contract.
You can also pre-pay the last 6 months of the initial 12, so from Mar17 you can pay in bulk the remaining 6 months but you still end up paying the same so its irrelevant from this perspective).

Or to put it another way - that link never even suggests you get a new phone on day 1 of the first contract being signed
