We've travelled 220 miles to Exeter for a 11:00 - 11:15 reserved appointment to pick up a 7 plus on the upgrade program only to be told that the system is down for processing the applications, they're not sure that it will be back up today.. ****ed off is an understatement, only took me 3 hours 45 mins to get here.. :'(

Wow that's quite a distance!
I'd have certainly called ahead.

I did yesterday evening, I was assured the reservation stood and the phone was reserved, the appointment was for 11.00 which dictated an early set off, hence leaving at 6.00am. I'm off work for a week so we're making a day of it, but I'll be ****ed off if I go back empty handed!

You drove 220 miles for a phone? lol people amaze me.

According to MacRumours, 9to5Mac and AppleInsider, no-one is getting a black or jet black plus tomorrow. Did he order the standard 7?

Earliest seems to be 20-22nd September which is what mine is, and I got my confirmation pretty much as the store opened it was that quick :p

matte black 7 128gb, apparently out for delivery.

Picked up my rose gold 128gb 7 from Reading, there was what appeared to be an unreserved queue outside the store?

Got to say doing the tour of phone shops (its my job) its pretty flat out there. Pretty poor selection of day 1 accessories.

Has anyone found out what manufacturing issue has caused there to be such an issue with the 7+ on launch?

There is no way Apple have simply underestimated the demand by this much. They have probably satisfied about 10% of the demand for the 7+ for launch day.

What a the plum for driving that much for a blinking phone!

Just walked in and picked mines up for those who were wondering whether you had to wait for the Check In time or not :)

Had about a 10minute wait overall but fairly swift process. Although no chance I was walking about with the Apple branded bag today...into my backpack it went :p

While that's true, the pricing of each tier has gone up by around £100 or so. I'm not saying it's wrong, or that there aren't reasons, but each tier has gone up.

Firstly this 'tier' nonsense just clouds the issue and conveniently ignores the capacity increases being offered. Secondly the price increases are almost entirely down to the collapse of the pound.

Just went to get mine (in my window).

Was still a small queue outside in tensabarriers (probably about 20-30 people) but I just walked up to the two Apple guys managing the queue and told them I was there to pickup an order.

Guy scanned the QR code on my Wallet pass then took me straight to the back of the store where a guy met him at the store-room door and handed the phone to him. Confirmed my email address for the receipt and left. Was in the store for a total of two minutes max.
