Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
9/10

Got my daughter a PS5 for Christmas and got this game as something to play on Christmas day in the event that Goat Simulator 3 took longer than expected to download.

She hasn't played it so thought I'd give it a go.

Wow, completely hooked!

Graphically it was stunning. Presentation and polish was top notch. Loved the story and some of the characters were hilarious.

Just finished all four of the walking dead games. I'd played the first two before but couldn't remember it so started them again. As a watcher of the tv shows, Clem has to be my favourite character in the WD universe. Great little story, although I am a bit miffed they didn't carry over Javier from Season 3 to the last season. Enjoyable bunch of games, shame what happened to the studio.

400 days and Michonne too?

And i will never forgive them for what they did to Lee :(

Yeah it’s free on gamepass, I might come back to it in a while after playing something else. On another note I had a stack of bugged achievements playing through the 4 games. Mainly chapter ones not popping despite finishing the game.

Lost Odyssey - 9/10

Absolutely fantastic game, spent the last few months of last year chipping away at weekends to get 100%. In the end it was a 75 hour time spend that I don't regret one bit!

Goldeneye (again) - a classic, still holds up really well. Only improved with modern controls and controllers. A true 10/10.

Hogwarts - superb in almost every way, a few performance issues aside I really enjoyed it. 9/10

hogwarts legacy 8/10

enjoyed most of it, story was well done, but there were a few things that started to grate.

1) characters starting to talk to you before you have the chance to take the option to talk, and you end up near enough repeating what they say
2) why do i have to sleep on the ground waiting for the day/night cycle to change, just bring me in as if i'm just arriving.
3) this isn't only this game that i have this issue with, but its the greetings/comments when arriving at a new location/shop at least offer some variety, they do it on at least one of the challenges that i've noticed.
the worst of this being after a task fairly early in the game getting mentioned nigh on every time i visit, once or twice i could understand but come on.
4) linked to (3) fast travel has a voice that offers a greeting, would be nice for a bit of variety on the wording and also to be able to respond

god of war Ragnarok
nice story, good twist. Some of the end bosses seemed a little easy for me, especially Heimdell, was expecting a lot more.
8/10

Hogwarts Legacy 8.5/10

Very fun and entertaining with lots of charm, and full of details/easter eggs if you're a fan of the Wizarding World.

The environs beyond Hogwarts Castle and Hogmeade do suffer from some of the pitfalls commonly associated with open world games, though. Too many cut n'paste treasure tombs, bandit camps, creature lairs etc which quickly become repetitive. The game also adopts level scaling which is both a curse and a boon. You can visit almost any area at any time and never feel underpowered, but the sense of progression/increasing power is absent ( aside from the extra spells you learn via the main story. )

For me, though, the strengths and fun playing this game outweigh the flaws. Recommended, especially for Harry Potter fans.

Ghostwire Tokyo on PS5 8/10 - Really enjoyed the main story (even through the last couple of levels were a bit short). It was quite atmospheric and intense in places. I did some of the side quests, but can imagine doing them all would get a bit tedious as there wasnt that much variety. Well worth the £20 i got it for.

Cyberpunk 2077. Brilliant. A few crashes along the way but generally it ran beautifully on the PS5 (performance mode). Apparently there are 5 endings and I may go back and explore some of them. Not done with the game yet so going to finish off the side content and gigs and psychos.

Last of Us - PS5 version. Superb overall, good story, amazing visually and just the right amount of suspense. Thought the combat was really good too. Felt pretty fresh all the way through and never a grind like most games do for me. I tend to mostly play open world games so was good to play something linear for a change, even though it did feel like an interactive movie at times.
I played though on moderate but feel I should have upped the difficulty. Probably only ran out of ammo once or twice. I really struggled with all the soldiers in the hospital at the end until I decided to do it Rambo style instead of stealthily. Just lobbed a load of nail bombs and molotovs, massacred them and made a right mess of the place. I started the extras bit after what seemed like an hour of end credits. Not that keen on playing as a 14 year old girl. That bit in the Halloween shop was lame, so likely won't complete it. I can push on with the TV show now.

Last of Us 2 worth playing through?

EDIT - skimming through TLOU2 thread and seems its a no brainer. Is there an enhanced version available? All I can see on ebay is standard PS4 version.
