Good episode, although I do kinda want more of the initial outbreak. It also feels like it's trying too hard to emulate the game with the both the cinematography and some of the dialogue.

I don’t think so? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong)

I don’t think there is any flashback to other people and the game only had scenes where the character you control is in the scene and you only control Joel and Ellie.

Same I would have liked more depth on the outbreak that for me is the most exciting part. Maybe there more snippets to come.

I really enjoyed that episode, great suspense, the scenery and the make up etc on the infected looked great.

So far both scenes set the start of the episode aren’t in the game. Craig Mazin seems to want to add additional lore on what Cordyceps is and what happened in the past and how the world responded.

So essentially every episode will start out this way I assume. I really look forwards to the future episodes now.

It being in the flour made sense when you see that Joel never got to eat pancakes, or have his birthday cake, but the old lady neighbour was eating biscuits.

They aren't really using spores as a way to transmit in the series, which makes sense they don't want their actors wearing gas masks for large portions of the show, which is why they switched to tendrils and fungus which works better for TV.

Really it's the first time we got to see Ellie for a significant period of time, where she wasn't in chains or having a gun pointed at her so the casting definitely worked for me this episode.

Yeah this is what I was trying to say about the car scene in episode 1.

Thought episode 2 was brilliant. Hope they include some more backstory.

Picture quality for me is excellent. Not sure why people are complaining, ok might not be as good as say Disney+ or Apple+ but the 4K HDR quality looks good to my eyes.
