The Last of Us (HBO, from Creator of Chernobyl) - No game spoilers please

Episode 4 seemed like a mixture of the best and worst parts of The Walking Dead, I'd have liked to see a bit of extra side stuff like they did in previous episodes to keep it a bit fresher.

Episode 5 will air this friday as its the Superbowl this sunday in the states.

Cheers all
Excellent! I thought ep4 was decent. Some lovely interaction between Joel and Ellie, they really have chemistry. Unfortunately it got all a bit "Walking Dead" with the events that transpired. But I guess that is part and parcel of the story arc (never played the game). Part of me was expecting the majority of this to be set in the middle of nowhere, sort of a cowboy/camping style, slow build thing. Guess I was wrong.

Credit to building the relationship with Joel/Ellie, it's not feeling forced.

One thing I will point out is the swearing, it feels needlessly excessive and at times, it breaks the immersion a little. This is from someone who is very colourful with my language at the best of times ( @ColdAsIce can confirm ) :D

I don't know what it's like in the game but I feel it fits Ellie's character very well. She barely does what she's told, she's a precocious kid and I'm guessing not many people around to tell you not to swear. Some bits are very funny.

Gald I'm not the only one. They teach you to swear like that at fedra school? Call a guy who is dangerous, protecting you, treats you as cargo an mf. And that reference with magazine, think they're going a little too far.

Episode 4 is decent enough, pacing was a little slow but it was generally well done, some of the same dialogue from the game again which is appreciated, a few minor changes but it works.

Joel was more upset then Ellie it seemed, wasn't very convinced by Bella's performance considering she's meant to be 14 and had somewhat sheltered life., she doesn't have much of a range at all. Pedro was good as Joel though..

I liked Episode 4 for the character building between Joel and Ellie. She's starting to shine in that role now imo.

The episode itself I guess is the weakest of the bunch so far but that's just because the others set a high bar.

I didn't like the new character of Cathleen? I think that was it. She just didn't seem to match the character that she's playing it that makes any sense.

We will see, episode 5 may completely change that. I get a feeling 4 and 5 were maybe one bigger episode originally

Next episode is coming Saturday instead. Looking forward to seeing what happens next
