The Last of Us (HBO, from Creator of Chernobyl) - No game spoilers please

Decent enough start, didn't have much hope as usual with game adaptations that are bad. Had a fair amount of money thrown at it for the first episode.

Nice to see Anna Torv back on TV too.

Not played the games, but didnt find it particularly vague. I guess if you you have seen enough infected / zombie stuff it will feel quite familiar.

Enyoyed the 1st episode, well made and the infected are pretty scary at full flight. The start of the apocalypse was pretty tense with a bit of a Black Summer panic about it.

Mid apocalypse airliners falling out the sky seem have become a bit of infected film / series trope , but still love seeing it. Think maybe Station 11 did it the best so far

Haven't played the games. Thought the show was good so far, but not amazing. Maybe I've just seen too much sci-fi / horror, but it was all very unoriginal and precictable. It seems like this show is going to be the next big thing as the hype already seems to be spreading fast. I'll definitely keep watching - maybe it will turn from good to great.

I'm glad you said it! He thinks she is too old and wants her to be better looking, errr........

I really enjoyed the first episode, have not played the games but have a rough idea of the story but with that it was very well shot, scripted and acted. Look forward to the rest.

Just to pick up on this, Bella Ramsey is 19 whereas Ellie is 13/14 in the 1st game. If you were to stick a bit closer to the character already created, the actor would be younger. Why is is the same people try to make something sexual about other folks wanting the tv show to land closer to an already established character?

Going to watch the 1st ep tonight, it's looking positive from folks that share a similar taste as myself though :)

People can criticise casting choices if they want, this is a forum for discusion... and if you want to be a total pendant the actor playing Joel should be a white man rather than of Hispanic/Latino heritage :cry:

Hold on, so you are supporting the person who said she didn't look young enough (despite her age she definitely looks young, you could quite easily believe she was 14) and was not as attractive as they wanted?

ah yes silly me, someone commenting on a woman who isn't exactly blessed with good looks means they want a 'hot 13 year old' to play the part, awesome reading skills you have :rolleyes: :cry:
