The Lord of the Rings Online - Name / Class / Server thread .. etc etc

Note the lvl 20 quest for riding skill is for VIP players only.

Yeah i did see that but couldnt wait another 8 levels to access it now i got my free horse lol
Going to sub for a month this weekend so i can gwt the dree bag slota as it is doing my head in with just 3

I've just reinstalled this after probably a 9 month absence. I'm a VIP member as I had a lifetime sub before. I had enough Turbine points to download the Rohan expansion for free which is nice.

However, I'm finding it hard to get back in to as so much seems to have changed.

I've noticed a finesse rating, tactical and physical mastery, 3 stars on my legendary item for upgrades among others and no idea what these do.

What do I need to be most aware of in terms of changes?

I'm always running out of space and I have 6 bags, 120 vault slots, and 40 shared slots lol

Well i have no idea with vault and shared slots yet .not that clued up yet.
Got the triple pack off steam no as well as Mithril edition so i have plenty to go at now.going to sub for a month for the extra slots etc.
What classes should i unlock.
Currently an elf hunter but want to unlock a few when i sub.
Only played hunter before.
Dont fancy much of the healer roles or pure tank tbh.

Cheers

Tactical mastery increases damage done by 'spells' and heals (mostly rune-keeper, lore-master and minstrel). Physical mastery increases damage done by melee and bow attacks for the other classes. There is some cross-over, for example, minstrels will exclusively want tactical mastery for their heals and cry-based attacks but the physical mastery rating will also give them a damage increase on the limited melee attacks they have. Likewise captains need physical mastery for their melee attacks, but tactical mastery increases the magnitude of their heals.

Finesse reduces the chance for physical (melee and bow attacks) to be block parried or evaded by your foes and also reduces the chance for tactical attacks (spells, crys, taunts etc.) to be resisted

The 3 stars on the Li's are for riddermark (lvl 85) crystals. These increase certain stats on the LI.
These are the DPS on your weapon, the tact heal/shield damage etc on the class item.
Also things with a raw value i.e. block rating, capt buffs, crit rating for certain skills will increase with a crystal.
However anything with a % increase is unaffected.

Cheers for that guys, gives me something to go on. It has definitely changed a lot since I last played. Will hopefully get back in to the swing of it soon enough.

Hunter is by far the most fun solo, fantastic utility. Minstrel is also pretty interesting, since you have a dps mode and a healer mode. Definitely try a captain too, very versatile class.

Runekeeper is just a bloke in a dress with a brick in his hand. I could just go to Glasgow for that :p

i have just downloaded this game and first off im not to sure about it any tips and good classes etc?

Depends on what you want to do.

DPS:
Hunter (ranged single target DPS)
Rune Keeper (ranged single/multi target DPS)
Champion (melee aoe dps)
Burgler (melee single target dps)

Tanks
Guardian (far better than warden)
Warden

Support
Captain (my fav class prob, does heals and buffs other players in your fellowship) Fantastic for raids/fellowships, bit slow solo.
Loremaster - Crowd Control, Pets and a fair amount of dps

Healers
Minstrel
Rune Keeper (you need to change traits

think that all, I've played most of them to cap and Guardian, Capt and RK are the ones i always play.

once you pick your class try and lvl and get out of the starter areas, not many people in them, but the world is full once you get nearer the cap.

Bare in mind RK/Warden are extra class only available via in game store or via the Mines of Moria expansion.

Hunter/Champs are pretty simple classes, although there are unsually a ton of hunters which can make getting groups more difficult at high lvl.

LM/Burgs are more complex classes, maybe not the best for a first time player. Captain could fall into that category too and although captains level slower they have a lot going for them.

Personally I think all the classes are pretty good in LOTRO, I have one of each :) The negative being the PVE content is generally pretty easy.

Just a quick question guys.i bought the mithril edition which has some quest areas.i cant remember them now but im sure one was called trollshires or something similar but when i was looking at quest packs in store i could have sworn id seen it available to purchase.
Would it alert me that i already had the content?
Is there any way to see what quest you have access to/purchased.
I subbed fir a month fir the extra baggage and stuff but didnt realise it gave you all quest packs so i cant double check until i unsub which i will do just before its up and ive got
my 500 points and classes sorted.
I have purchased the MIthril edition and the expansion triple pack

Cheers

Path of the fellowship quest pack will get you

Trollshaws (L30 to L40)
Eregion (L48-52)
Moria (L50-L60)
Lothlórien (L57-L60)

Trollshaws is a bit of a rubbish quest pack for levelling as it is an old zone in desperate need of a revamp. Eregion, Moria and Lothlorien are all great IMO and should provide enough to do to get you to L65 or there abouts

Do all the quests in Bree and Lone-lands (both free). After that buy Eregion and maybe Forochel too... Those packs, combined with what you have and the epic book quests (all free) should take you close to L65.

Ok cheers for the heads up :)

If you need a hand in-game just holler and I'll help as best I can if I'm online on Evernight.

Just remember one thing about the game, it follows the literature, not the movies as we all know they got tweaked ;)
