She’s more than a thousand years old, has battled for centuries, head of the army and people are saying there’s no justification for her being a warrior - criticised for looks despite being from a race (elves) that’s known for being slight and pretty. Yeah, turn down the turbo dial with the criticism.
if anything they really nerfed her compared to the other elves and is far older than the king - the idea that none of them would listen to her is ridiculous

Question.

Did that snow troll actually kill any of the elves in her party? Because it seemed like it should have the way it was smashing a few of them around.

Edit - Yes, I watched episode 1 and thought it was decent enough but not great. It did however look fantastic.

Yes that what was my point, nobody complained about the trilogy accents, suddenly accents are an issue ?
We've just had two pages of comments about accents. Does make you wonder if we're getting too picky. We need to just learn to enjoy our shows :D

Because the accents are not consistent, they fall in an out of them. Lenny Henry shifts from Jamaican to Irish constantly.
No worse than Merry & Pippins accents in the trilogy or even Sam's

Yes as long as you can understand what they're saying what does it matter, it's Lenny Henry playing a semi-minor character role ffs, you're not going to get Ian McKellen or Christopher Lee levels of acting with him

And in terms of accents all the Elves should be speaking English with a hybrid of Finnish, Gothic, Welsh & Latin accents, OMG everything is ruined

Otherwise, there is nothing I particularly dislike. The lead actress is a bit overly earnest, but that’s it (that’s a script thing rather than an acting thing).
