THE MAGNIFICENT 7: BIG DISCOUNTS ON GRAPHICS CARDS!!

A relative has the UE49KS7000 which has the 10 bit panel and the QLED backlight and with decent bitrate content the IQ,is pretty amazing, and even the built in speakers were not too bad either.

Edit!!

Even DF,said it was great for gaming:

Couple of days after I’d placed my order with richer sounds another retailer(Hughes direct if I call) had the 49mu7000 for £130 more than I paid for the mu6400, I did think about asking richer sounds if I can change my order but decided against it.

Well at least you will get the third best,I mean if a GTX2070 costs close to £500,a 60 series card will be like £300+ which will be like LOLWTFBBQ!!

:p
The 1070 isn't the 3rd best Pascal and I'm fairly confident the 2070 won't be the 3rd best next gen. Even discounting the Titan V, we expect: 1st- gaming Titan; 2nd- 2080 Ti; 3rd- 2080; 4th- 2070. Ignoring the 1070 Ti as that's a Johnny-come-lately card.

So yeah... if I can't get the 3rd best card - the 2080 - for £600, then I'm just going to forget about PC gaming for a few years. I'm not even going to bother watching it eat itself.

Thanks, got my wife to register and complete the purchase successfully. Only one order in the end to our household so hopefully all good and still in the spirit of the offer :D. More gutted that this replaces my old 980 with waterblock that I sold very cheaply (£150!) to a mate at the end of last year. Wasn't planning on having a second (although lower end) gaming PC in the household at the time.

You opened the CARD ?? :p

On another note, how it is performing for you ?

Still in it's box as I have a raging headcold and can't really concentrate on fiddly things right now. Gonna try and cram this monster into a Bitfenix Prodigy mITX case tomorrow once I've had some sleep :D

I'll do a before/after though for fun! :D

Apparently we should not complain about any of this as its normal practice even going back 10 years(news to me). But yeah,I will see how it goes in the near future.

:p

What if there is no gaming Titan so the 2070 is actually the 3rd card?

I'm hoping prices aren't quite that crazy.

£600+ would be my guess. I'm hoping that £600 will bag me a 2080, so I've set that as my "go/no go" decision maker...

2080 for £600 or less? Buy, buy buy!
2080 > £600, 2070 > £480? Everybody can get stuffed. I'm done with these clowns. PS4 4 lyfe!
I'm a bit confused by all the people saying they're going for consoles (or sticking with consoles they already have) instead of buying a 1080, 1080 Ti, 2080, or 2080 Ti. I agree that prices are crazy right now but those cards are also significantly more powerful than current consoles. I could understand if people were shunning RX 580s and GTX 1060s in favour of consoles, since that's probably a more direct comparison.

The only games I'd be happy playing with a controller are either couch Steam games, most of which run reasonably on my insanely crap GT 430, or Nintendo games (and I don't even have a Wii U let alone a Switch, so that tells you how long it's been since I've played a Zelda game :D). The only other game I can think of that I've played on console recently is GTA V on my Xbox 360, and that's only because the PC version is always stupidly late. I love my complicated RPGs and FPS games so I need my mouse and keyboard! :)

Finally got round to opening my card and no haribo!

Did you go for the 1080TI in the end? :D

I can only think the Haribo was a mistake and that we should both expect some in the post soon :p :D

It's going to take me a while to get over the fact that I have no worries regarding games for the near future at least :p

I've tried to push it to its limits and it's a beast :p

I did! Installing in a few after I run Heaven and Valley for some comparison scores! Hopefully I don't need to do a full rebuild into my full tower case either!

Expensive purchase but I like you say this should hold up for some time. My 970 has done 3.5 years so no reason this can't do the same!

And then Cyberpunk 2077 come out and all graphic cards will be struggling ? :p

On a slightly more serious note, congratulations to your purchase. :D

Right - the immediate results are in! :D

All these tests were run on Ultra/Max settings where possible and at 2560*1440 (native res)

1080Ti - Score 2310, FPS Score: 91.7

Valley Benchmark:

970GTX - Score: 1482, FPS Score: 35.4
1080Ti - Score: 3619, FPS Score 86.5

Superposition Benchmark: (Shaders & Textures HIGH)

970GTX - Score 1191, Max FPS 10.48

Old card in place, touch dusty!

Removed - kinda fiddly due to layout!

Side by side comparison - legs: models own!

27657907_10216403699832033_3450214653218945237_n.jpg

Decided to hook up the power outside the case. Also no need to fit 8 pin plugs as the old cable had 6+2 plugs on!

27867934_10216403700312045_2560249331452844869_n.jpg

Plenty of room to spare! :D

Shiny lights! (I can't see them due to case layout/side panel :( )

So yeah pretty happy with that. In benchmarks a roughly 2.5x performance increase!

Think I'll go play Faster than Light now :p
