Most little nicks are so tiny that they don't leave a mark. The blade exposure is minimal when the razor is assembled, it's people being careless when they have the blade out of the razor that's the problem.

They're called 'safety' razors for a reason. Except the Futur, don't try and change the adjustment level with the blade installed for risk of serious damage!

A great shave today as part of my weekly theme using ToBS Avocado cream, ToBS shaving shop balm and a splash of Pinaud Clubman aftershave. It may be dirt cheap but it's rapidly turning into my favourite aftershave/cologne. I also prefer the shaving shop balm to the GFT Limes (I used that yesterday) as it leaves my mush feeling softer. I was faceturbating all the way down the A12!

Still no sign of the ATT razor set so we've called it lost in the post, I've had an almost complete refund and I'm getting just the Atlas handle sent. I'll order the Titan from shaving.ie.

I've also got another brush on order, a Chubby 2 in Super :D

I used T&H Limes cream today, the scent and the performance are good but I found that it's quite a drying cream, nowhere near as moisturising as (for example) ToBS Avocado. If I'd had to pay for it, I'd be a little disappointed by it.

Used a feather today. Took the top off a slightly raised mole. It bled more than most nicks I've had. Got the Alum Block out and it instantly stopped. Awesome tool. Still stinging slightly though.

Expecting a some shaving goodies to arrive today ready for Friday's shave :D

i was wanting to give this a try but having read back quite a few pages it seems some people have scarred themselves for life and one bloke almost cut his nose off and another fella nearly lost a finger.

Its far too dangerous ill stick with mach 3 lol

Chicks dig scars...

Is there any places that I can buy a cheap Alum block? Online they cost a bloody fortune and I remember buying one in Turkey ages ago for pennies.

they're cheap in indian supermarkets, normally 50p or less

£140! Jeez. It better be good.
Hairs on it look nice though.

bargain! Simpson sell them on their site for £187

My English RedTip Rocket arrived this week,to join my English SuperSpeed.

i've cleaned it up and repainted the tip, just waiting for some clear gloss enamel to paint over the red to finish both off.

Is there much difference between the Merkurs? I'm browsing the Rainforest and they range from £19.99 for the 1904 to about £50 for other models. I don't mind paying the higher price, but as a newbie, they all look pretty similar so I'm tempted to choose the cheaper model. Good idea?

Stupid phone. Edrof, get merkur 34HD and never look back. If it comes to the worst you could always sell on ebay (which you won't).

Some of you may have seen my thread about head shaving, and I have ordered a headblade following some responses.

I do however want to upgrade from my boots plastic special DE up to something more substantial. If I want to use the razor for my face and head, should I go for a head with teeth or no teeth? Does it even matter?

Looks like you have followed a lot of the suggestions in this thread and you have also picked up quite a bargain setup here. I heard those razors are alright too. Report back how you find your new kit :)

Just picked up some West Indian Lime shave cream from Crabtree and evelyn as the wife and I were in town and she bought some hand cream. Here

Smells good, just need see how it lather. It did come with a kind of giant sardine tin key that you fit on the end of the tube to squeeze the cream out, which was kind of cool.

I'd been meaning to get some more creams as the soap I've been using has just run out. Well it ran out a while a go really, I've been chasing bits of broken puck around the bowl for a week or so.
I picked up some palmolive cream from Tesco which I thought I'd try. Gave a great frothy slick lather very easily and was below £2.
