^ Let us know how it goes, they've some got nice looking soap and AS balm too.

Epic brush, enjoy it!

Great job! How do they shave compared to the standard 50s rocket head?

I picked up a NOS Schick Injector recently (late 50s, early 60s) Hmm, should I try the vintage blades first or just grab some new ones from Connaught?

Shaving.ie sell them but are out of stock too. Maybe feek decided to get a lifetime supply? :p

Why not try the saloon version? Apparently it's the same blade without an extra sterilisation process.

I've not used the Red tip rocket yet, i'm going to wait until i finish painting it up.

I get great shaves from a HD rocket, the redtip super speed was quite a similar shave, maybe slightly more efficient with a heavy handle compared to the normal version.

from what i've read the Redtip's go in this order - US Superspeed (Mildest), English Superspeed (More Aggressive), English Rocket (Most Aggressive)

At the moment i'm mainly using my Open Comb's.

NOS Schick Injector

That looks great, i've not tried one of those.

I'll echo the Merkur 34C HD recommendation.
I recently got the Edwin Jagger DE89 which is almost on par with the 34C. Slightly less weight but much better looking. The 34C isn't for looks but I find the razor more practice. The sleek handle on DE89 is fairly slippy when using a pre-shave oil. Not what you want when holding a lethal blade against your neck. With normal water and cream/soap though it's fine. Great razor for £18 though.

My Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap will be arriving tomorrow and I can't wait to test it out. Having previously enjoyed TOBS cream (Mr Taylor's and St James' collection), my latest ones (Eton College and Sandalwood) have been very disappointing. I don't like the scents at all and I suspect that the one that I can just about tolerate (Eton) is contributing to some mild shaving rash on my neck.

just got my alum block today, now i just need my razor and cream, brush to arrive etc, am i sad for being so interested in the simple process of shaving my face lol. i dont know why im so excited by this day to day task. I guess that 17 years of mach 3 will do that to someone, haha

Anyone used Bluebeards Revenge Post Shave Balm? If not can anyone recommend a good post shave balm!?

I've tried Proraso Pre and Post Shave Cream, should i invest in Proraso Liquid After Shave Cream? or somthing else?

I like the Pre/Post cream pre shave but post its just to dry/solid? I need a moisture!

I find that most of the Nivea after shave balms are great, and the good thing is that you can get them anywhere so you don't have to order online and then wait. I used the Cool Kick ASB this morning.

Having said that the Proraso is excellent.

Used it, wasn't a fan. I just didn't really like the feel or the scent. I use ToBS Shaving Shop aftershave gel/balm which has a mild but nice scent that doesn't last too long. It's nicely moisturising and a 75ml tube lasts for absolutely months!

Med Preps are back in stock at Connaught. Get 'em before I do :D

Ran out of shaving cream about a week ago so no shaving me :(

Eventually had to have a shave last night due to work today and all I could find was Tresemmé Hair Conditioner! Worked a treat... 1 tiny nick (not bad after not shaving for over a week)
