Has anyone got the new Avenged Sevenfold's album? I'm sure many on here will like along with their Dads! It sounds very oldie, I absolutely love it. Very Iron Maiden and Guns n Roses feel to some songs.
I think it's ok, bit like metallica / guns n roses

Listened to it a bit but most of it seems a bit boring/soft :(
Couldn't listen to the "planets" track all the way through :o

Did anyone see this post from Rob Flynn (Machine Head)
AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Congratulations to Avenged Sevenfold on their latest "covers album" coming in at #1, who knew that re-recording Metallica, Guns N Roses, and Megadeth songs could be such a worldwide hit!!?? Ba-dap Psssssss!!

Went to an awesome gig in Birmingham on Saturday, at Asylum.

With One Last Breath
Crown The Empire
Issues

Such an awesome gig. I'd highly recommend all 3 bands. Issues especially, they're one of my favourite bands at the mo.

No idea how to embed a youtube video, but here's a link!

Not listened to Issues but Tyler was brilliant in Woe, is me. If a little poncy sounding his talent is epic!

Listened to some of the stuff and whilst bits of it are catchy, it is pretty unremarkable... I first heard the title track on Planet Rock and was intrigued by the sound, but it seems lost in the middle of the bands mortals listed, whilst not being as good as any of them.

I'd also throw into the mix Bullet For My Valentine - not sure who copied who's style - as there are some definite themes of this weird 'Noughties' metal which is all tech-shred emo.

It's easy listening, but not hard enough. As it happens, I've just tried to preview some of their other stuff and it's come up with an advert for a Metallica Live video... just shows the disparity in music/band quality when I'd rather find the equivalent 'tallica track from my collection.

Went to a small festival on the weekend, Seen a few bands there but i'd recommend these out of who I seen:

Heights,
Bleed from Within,
Marmozets,
Hacktavist.

I remember seeing heights in Stoke when they were small, still prefer the original vocalist though!

There was a lot of drama regarding the bassist taking over lead vocals and a lot of unhappy fans!

Liking this band atm.

Clean vocals a little typical "whiney american" but the rest is brutal as hell!

also, this has been a small victory for me.

popped up randomly on my last.fm playlist a while back. spent ages trying to find it.

been hammering some of the following loads recently. not all strictly metal but whatever

Well worth listening too if you liked Woe, is me! The Numbers album by Woe, is me is awesome. They only have 6/7 tracks out at the mo, but well worth checking them all out.

Tyler's voice is brilliant live, got some talent that guy!

Anyone have any recommendations for similar stuff to Jeff Loomis, and Tony McAlpine? I like my instrumental stuff. I can't be dealing with crappy shouty lyrics.
