From their album "Sublimation". Also checkout their latest album, "Irradiance". Just oustanding quality and essential listening for fans of technical/instrumental metal.

Try a band called 'The Armed'. Both their albums are free on their website in both MP3 and lossless formats. Mixed by Kurt Ballou of Converge fame.

One of the songs on the new EP has ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer, Chris Pennie, on it too. :)

The 'These Are Lights' album is excellent.

So today I discovered that Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah's lead guitarist) has a solo album. Here is a sample:

A great discovery for me considering Meshuggah is my favourite band :D

Love it.

Caught somewhere in time is easily my favorite maiden song too mind you I really didn't think it sounded good live! And I have a couple of different bootlegs from that tour!

I only own bootlegs recorded in the UK as I prefer the banter with the brits from Dickinson. My fav is the one from Leicester in 86 purely because of the quality - do you have any from that tour that you think sound better? I'm all about the quality really.

I also really want to find a good quality bootleg from 82 that has total eclipse on it aswell - however the only bootlegs I found from that tour with that track were terrible quality. The bootlegs that didnt include that track however sounded awesome! Sucks!

I'll check out that track too :)

Yeah I have got Leicester '86 as well and that is a very good recording indeed... a good audience as well considering it was recorded at the De Mont Fort hall which only has a capacity of around 2500 ish compared to a lot of other venues they played at the time which have 10,000+ capacity. But overall as mentioned, Bristol '86 is probably the best recorded gig of the whole tour. Not just the sound quality, but how well the band performed that night (they played the full 1986 tour setlist, if they thought that it was gig was crap of if the audience were not very good they would not bother playing the last song on the setlist which was Sanctuary I think) and also how loud but interactive the audience were but at the same time they do not interfear or over power the overall sound at all!

Yeah I agree with you there the UK ones are the best ones, the Europe ones were ok but most of the sound quality on them were not all that good. The North America ones that I have listened too, most of them are nearly excellent quality but in my opinion the band play way too fast on this leg of the tour, if you have a look for one you will know what I mean. The same goes for the ending leg of the tour that they did in Japan.

I haven't listened to many of the 82 tour bootleg's but I have got one that was recorded at the New Theatre in Oxford in March 1982 and I think the bootleg is named as "Total Eclipse" ;) and it is a good recording. Though my favourite recording from that tour has to be the Hammersmith one (though that was professionally filmed and released as you know).

Today, I have been mostly listening to the new album from The Acacia Strain :)

Utterly awesome album. Them and whitechapel seem to be just all dominating atm :D

And to balance it out, here's some Black Dahlia Murder in the most hilarious music video I've ever seen considering the genre :p

I've just discovered Kamelot, what an amazing band. Listening to one cold winter's night at the moment and i love the guest vocals from Simone. Whats their best album?

Check out 'The Black Halo' album

'Center of the Universe' is one on my favourite songs by Kamelot though:

That song is brilliant. I watched the one winters night dvd through youtube. Abandoned is incredible. Also love the version of the haunting with Simone Simmons. Shame i missed them on tour earlier this year , hope they come back soonish.
