* The Metal Thread *

Agalloch are great, I can listen to The Mantle for hours.. Although it somehow reminds me of Mafia as I discovered how great the album is while it was on repeat as I played Mafia, many years back.. :D

Anyone going to Bloodstock next weekend?

Any one heard of Isis?

Awsome post metal band, soundtrack to my journey in to and from work.

(How do I embed You tube videos?)

The bit after v= goes into this bbcode.. not using brackets of course but [ ]

And yeah I know Isis, i've never really listened to them properly enough to digest and become a fan however, even though i'm quite big into post rock and metal, yet i've never really listened to post metal!

I listen to metal (Opeth, Isis, Agalloch etc)

Post Rock (Mogwai, The Evpatoria Report, Godspeed You Black Emperor!)

And something inbetween the two:

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble and their other band The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation

Check them out on you tube.

Its Doom Jazz, but its sounds more post rock really.

I am dissapointed, I was expecting trumpets going off in all directions, saxophones blaring out in stereo and a vocalist like mike patton.

Something like Zu is what I had in mind...

Thats not to say I didnt like what you posted, its just not what I expected when seeing the description "Jazz".

Well its more subtle.

I thin the premise behind therir music is they are making film scores for film that dont exists....

Good albums I would check out:

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble:

From the Stairway, Here Be Dragons, Mutations, The Kilimanjaro Dark Jazz Ensemble

Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation:

Succubus

This is one band I want to see live!

That sacred reich singer sounds a lot like rob flynn.

Does anyone here like flotsam and jetsam? I'm rather new to them, just discovered them thanks to youtube. What do you all think?

I think they are very cool!

I first saw them when they supported Megadeth on their Peace Sells tour back in '86

I always thought dimmu were considered a bit of a "joke" band so I never bothered to check them out properly.

I like whats been posted though, whats a good album to get?

Puritanical Euphoric Mysanthropia is my favourite album closely followed by Deathcult Armageddon. Both of them have entire album worth of superb songs which I didn't think in sorte diaboli had. The newest album is very good though (abracadabra)

I've just watched that and thought 'blimey, that looks just like Adam D from KsE' :o

I didn't recognise him without his cape and short shorts :D

Singer looks/sounds like the one from Clutch (also Mastadon):

Oh, and while we're here - I'm going to rehash Mudvyne:
