* The Metal Thread *

Thanks guys...currently checking all them out.

BTW, what genre is RATM? As they are one of my favourite bands of all time...

so many good memories of ditching highschool listening to a mix of RATM and Marley while sunning on a rock in the river....smoking homegrown....stuff

Already covered Nightwish :D

Aghora "Dime".

Iron Maiden I still have, I still listen to and it occurred to me why it's so good - it's music that you can play but the crafting of the songs is exceptional.

My playilist

Exodus - Bonded by Blood
Anthrax - Efilnikufesin
Converge - You Fail Me
Megadeth - She-Wolf
Danzig - Long Way Back From Hell
Kyuss - Supa Scoopa & Mighty Scoop

Damn my taste is good.

Not really a recommendation but after 22 years listening to Maiden I still think the material is timeless. Powerslave is 25 years old

Another vote :p

I've been getting into Maiden loads recently.

Watched Live after Death last night and it was fantastic. Also ordered Flight 666 on DVD.

Unlike most bands I think they seem to get better with age

Great thread! Keep up the good work everyone. Picking up some nice bands here and then checking them out in Spotify. :D Loving Edguy - Superheroes (inc. Epic Version)! Just soooo catchy, if a little like Bon Jovi. Haha.

:D

[Sunn o))) vid]

Im not a fan by the way.
Heh, that's possibly my favourite linked bit of music so far! Their 'Black One' album is great if you're ever in the mood for some ambient black metal :)

This thread definitely needs some more slow stuff to compensate for all the blastbeattestosterwiddle...

Both from sadly underrated albums [especially in Bethlehem's case].

Someone mentioned metal with clean vocals. Check out progressive metal and power metal, and you'll find plenty of clean, melodic vocals.

This song's called "Underfire" by Cloudscape, a relatively unknown band.

Here's a refreshing band from Finland.

Dream Theater have produced some great stuff. This song isn't their best, but it's still solid. Clean vocals here too.

At last - some decent progressive metal. None of this Scuzz-ish shouty metal.

I saw Cloudscape a couple of years ago [supporting Dreamscape errrmm] and was generally disinterested in them because the sound was rubbish. That video wasn't bad at all though.

Here are some of my favourites. The mighty Fates Warning:

Conception, a majorly underrated band from the 90s:

And a wild card - Seventh Wonder - who I'm surprised aren't more well known.

Of course I couldn't leave this post without mentioning the label I A&R for - check out the new Witchbreed track 'Rebel Blood' on this page.
