* The Metal Thread *

Been getting in loads of bands lately..

Lots of Skindred, As I Lay Dying, Still Remains..

I recommend As I Lay Dying - Shadows are Security.. some cool tracks on there...

I just bought As I Lay Dyings DVD, tis rather excellent.

The Black Dahlia Murder will always be one of my favourite bands, real heavy but nice and melodic and I love the lyrics.

fun guys :D

Oh and another band from Reading I need to pimp, Malefice :D British metal yay!

Most listened to at the moment:
Mastodon - Crack The Skye & Blood Mountain

I enjoyed most of Blood Mountain but they put me off their new album when I read an interview, pretty much saying "Its not a metal album its this and that and theres influences from bands like (insert band I never liked)"

I should probably get on their myspace and have a listen.

Not sure what I'd class them as but seeing some of the other reference on here I'm also surprised no-one has mentioned anything by Disturbed?

Brilliant been meaning to ask about some metal recommendation for ages and now with spotify it should be easy to test lots out. Can peopel reccomende their fav songs from all these albums as well please.

I'm not really into thrash metal as such, but i have quite a bit of other metal stuff. Try these.....

Cult of Luna - The Beyond

Axis of Perdition - The Ichneumon Method (1st track will make your head implode)

Anaal Nathrakh - The Codex Necro

Between the Buried and Me - Colors (best album i've heard in AGES)

Emperor - Prometheus

Deftones - Around the Fur (my favourite band)

Enjoy

As has just been mentioned, i love slipknot, saw them in Sheffield last year, best gig ive ever been to, mainly because iw as front row :D the metallica gig at Sheffield would have probably beat it but i was seated for that one :(

Love Corey's voice, the band get put down because they dont do 3 minute guitar solos or are "the" best musicians in the world but i think they are fantastic as a group. Bar the 3 minute guitar solos i think joey is brilliant, not saying hes the best drummer in the world but some of the stuff is fantastic

The self titled Slipknot album has still got something about it. I've owned that album for nearly 10 years now and still like to crank it every now and again. It's such a heavy album. The drums are amazing on it too, they've got this desperate unpredictability about then.:)

Lots of awesome suggestions here. A band which not many people have heard of is Narziss, since everyone seems to like Rammstein so much. It's slightly different, but I like it.

Anyone in here going to Download or Ghostfest this month? I'm going to both and can't ****ing wait.

Also, if you like heavy, heavy stuff. Check out some of these;
