Xhaka out injured until end of the year. With Torreira and Guendouzi out on loan I guess the question is who partners Partey now, Lakonga/Elneny/AMN? I think we should give Lakonga a shot.

Elneny and AMN are awful so i very much hope it's Lakonga.

It’ll be Lokonga 90% of the time. AMN and Elneny will be used as defensive subs if we need to hold a lead.

Will leave us quite a weak midfield in the EFL cup games.

Leno kept us from getting battered regularly the other season but his limitations keep getting shown up now and it seems like he’s had one foot out the club for a while now. The money we paid makes sense now you realise he’s the actual first choice and Leno is on borrowed time - as soon as they have a half decent back-up keeper lined up they’ll be happy to let him go.

Also as Gunnerblog said, didn’t realise what we’ve missed having a keeper that’s got a bit of personality and interacts with the crowd and… well, it’d be nice, wouldn’t it.

One of the main things for me is that he actually plays with passion and his heart on his sleeve. That attitude can inspire the rest. He actually cares. Leno just seems a bit blasé about everything, like he’s just going through the motions.

He’s a bit mental at times too. Like an English Lens Jehmann.

That I cannot agree with. Look where we have been without him? If he had to go it would have been when we had someone better than him to replace with. So far that has not been the case.

At one point we could have got Klopp before Liverpool did. That was the time for him to go. Big opportunity missed.
