For fun earlier I came up with an all-English Arsenal XI, would be interesting to see what other clubs could field?

I included Wilshere as he is training with the club but if you don't like that, Nelson could be recalled from loan to play RWB in place of AMN who would replace Wilshere in the centre.

That's not cheating "a bit", that's just plain cheating. You can't pick a foreigner and claim they are English.

Balogun is American.

He's played for England U21. AFAIK that's the most senior international level he as played at. He's still eligible to play for the English national team. He's more English than American in football terms.

Didn't know that, he's still unattached and training with Arsenal from what I can tell (see here from before the Norwich game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyD7K0A-MMM ) but I've already provided the alternative if he doesn't count, Maitland-Niles replaces him in the engine room with Reiss Nelson taking over at wingback.

Plenty of wages saved from Aubamarang and probably Lacazette in the summer. Should be able to get those two and Smith Rowe on long contracts.

Was thinking last night, when was the last time two English players hit double figures in a league season for Arsenal? I think it was 93-94 with Wright and Campbell unless anyone can think of something more recent?
To make it more interesting, how about the last time two English players that aren't strikers hit double figures in a league season for Arsenal?

I appreciate due to changes in formations etc it's maybe there is more use of 'forwards' rather than out and out strikers these days, just a bit of fun.

Not particularly. He’s had one bad injury that kept him out for a long time, but other than that, he’s been fine.

Tierney on the other hand. Partey’s not too clever either.
