The new Arsenal Club Thread - *No Spoilers & Read OP Before Posting*

Not 100% convinced we’d have got Pep, but we’d have got Klopp no problem.
I think that's somewhat wishful thinking Rob. Klopp turned down a number of clubs including Utd before agreeing to join Liverpool and admitted that he had thought about managing us 15 months or so before he got the job when he stood staring at the Kop in a pre-season game. As Klopp put it himself, he's a football romantic and only certain clubs are right for him and that was Liverpool!

4 nil I believe. I was at the game so take full responsibility.

Even Flappy-handski was better.
Nah, Leno is good. Because Martinez did so well in project restart some people forgot how Leno was earlier in the season, he was our best player two years ago. Apart from Cech and the cameo from Martinez, I can't think of any keeper between Seaman and Ramsdale as good as Leno.

I'll hold my hands up and say it looks like Ramsdale will turn out to be a decent signing, I honestly didn't see the point because we already had Leno.

The problem Arsenal have is Leno is too good to be a #2 at a team not in European competition (and presumably on a good wage), but they haven't really got a replacement lined up. Okonkwo for example is utterly terrible based on preseason.

so you dont rate lehmann our invincible keeper - lehmann was probably the best we've had!!

That's a real no BS statement, woah.

Tierney or Gabby would be a good captain I think - Ramsdale might be too "new" to the club but could also be a good shout.

Tierney(c) for me.

Arteta does seem to like throwing his weight around (not necessarily a bad thing), in terms of freezing out high profile players like Ozil. You can envisage a situation where Auba never plays the for the club again, they just tick off the games to the end of the year and then he departs in January. You can bet your bottom dollar if he does leave it will be another example of Arsenal letting a top player leave on the cheap, really with 18 months left on his contract a player of his calibre should be commanding a £25m+ fee.

his been crap for over 12month tbh.

HIs not demand and Harry Kane will follow suit and have a average season and City will cough him up for like 30-40m.

ONly players that are banging in performances get the high doller fee.

RIght now? Saka is worth triple Aubameyang.

Heck, even Lacazette is worth more down to performance

wouldn't he be going to the Africa cup in the new year anyway? So they'd have a month after Christmas where he wouldn't be playing either. Selling him in the window could be a shrewd bit of business if they replace him with someone who will be available to play.

White or Gabriel for me, Ramsdale would be best fit due to having a bit about him but prefer it to be an outfield player who will play 90% of the games.

Have there been any rumours as to what it is Auba keeps doing to be disciplined?
R5 last night suggested late back from visiting his mum who was sick. He had to get special permission to go in the first place. He was supposed to be back Weds night to get tested etc before training. Pitched up Thurs morning instead direct to training ground. Problems of breaking agreements, ruining test procedure, risk of infecting team and compromising squad availabilty and match performance etc etc Not to mention the bad example to the younger players from the captain.

ah ok, sounds like that might be it, nothing too bad then but also not good enough from someone who is supposed to be the captain.
