The New European Super (borefest) League

And why can't you have both?

Are you not a bit fed up with seeing the same old teams winning the league every season?

Maybe this I just what we need to break that merry-go-round.

Leicester won it only 5 years ago, it can happen, that’s the point. So what most of the time it’s only these big clubs but the principle anyone can, it seems you can’t grasp this.....

And I say if they want to break away, let them, make the PL more competitive. I’d say just go do it, let’s see what happens. PL is going to change regardless now so might as well do it without these teams holding it over everyone else.

I think you are right about the fact it will happen but they will remain in the premiership

I hope they don’t, they might as well all move to the MLS.

i propose go back to CL where only Champions qualifies, let Man U, Barca and co play their little sandbox league amongst themselves, I rather watch a CL now with true champions of each country, no need for these champions to actually play qualification rounds. They are there on merit.

I seem to remember they actually got furthest in the CL the next season compared to all the other English teams? Quarter final against Atletico springs to mind but I'm likely wrong.

For too long have FIFA and UEFA ruled incompetently and corruptly but no one brings them to justice, the English FA can do one as well as they are beyond a joke so I'm all for this.

Chelsea wasn't my club when we stopped doing the open days in about 98, when Roman bought us out, sure it was amazing and shocking seeing us sign all the players I could only dream of but it moved the club further and further away from what I and the fans grew up with.

£££££££££ talks, i for one i am disgusted with this its not the players or managers (yet) but everything that football is about from grass roots to the top this will end it all.
as a liverpool fan of 41 years and my dad and his dad and so on to watch the games at anfield and watch some great games i have been lucky, but this has to not happen.

Ajax got to semi final only like 2 years ago? And Tottenham (got qualified on merit) made it to the final the same year.

Now as things stands West Ham won’t be there? It’s not a joke, it’s just wrong.

There's going to be some monumental tucking from one side or another in the next few weeks, will the PL/UEFA/FIFA be the first to crack or the 15 breakaway teams? Someone is going to back down.

I highly doubt the PL will kick the "big 6" out and I highly doubt FIFA/UEFA will ban teams or do anything they said they would, it's all hot air. The owners don't give a **** if they get backlash they will carry on regardless, which is sad as I honestly felt a couple of days ago it wouldn't happen.

I want nothing to do with this league so my only hope at this stage is that any TV rights are with Disney+ or some other streaming provider so I don't have to pay. If Sky take it on, i'll be binning them off out of principle.

I think this'll go to big American streaming services.

I'm sure that the teams close to qualifying wouldn't mind a better chance if the bigger teams are not so keen. We might actually end up seeing a larger variety of clubs playing and winning European cups as a result.

There would be 5 place for the non-permanent teams. The 15 permanent clubs are mostly the 15 richest clubs already, but they'll get an additional 250+ m payment for being a founding member.

So even of the likes of Leicester or West ham did get one of the remaining 5 places, you think they'd have any chance in a league competition which is played along side
the premiership. These 12-15 clubs are literality getting paid the total value West Ham's Market cap just for being part of it.

So the 5 charity case clubs would be playing a competition they couldn't possibly win, which would also affect there chances in all the other competitions.
Knockout competitions give lower teams a chance, but a team doing a Leicester in this proposed League is pretty much impossible.

If entry was based on, on pitch performance and the founders pocket lining 250m payment removed, most clubs & fans probably wouldn't be so opposed, at least not to this level.

Why can't a club choose to participate in multiple league's/ competitions simultaneously?

Are the clubs being trapped by anti competitive policies if they are told they can only play in 1 league/competitions (i.e uefa sanctioned) or be excluded/punished?

I'm not for a breakaway league but who gave uefa a God-given monopoly?

Pretty sure UEFA and Fifa have more legitimacy than these 12 clubs however bad and corrupt they have been.

Clubs sign contracts the play in different competitions. And the top teams get well paid for doing so.

It's a bit like you telling your employer you're taking on a 2nd job and your performance on your current job will probably be affected and expecting not to be told to do one. :)

They wont kick them out but something has to happen. If they are allowed to compete in the premier league then you might aswell just forget about it if you arent in that six.

Can the big six agree with the other 14 that they will share some of this money with them? Maybe there's an agreement that a certain percentage drops to the lower leagues?

Do the six even want to remain in the league?

Yea you lost me here.

As I mentioned earlier, there are valid arguments for a club run competition replacing UEFA but as incompetent and corrupt as they may be, we're in safer hands with them running it than US investors.

i’m afraid that and Asia, this will be big. The 12 controls everything so they pocket the majority, meaning if they charge just £5 a game, 150mil Man U fans, 250mil Real M fans, let’s face it, most of them are not in the UK, they will pay it to watch and even without a single ticket sale in the stadium, they are making a lot of money per match.

I'd rather US investors that have yet to be proven to be corrupt than the decades of world "elites" that have time and time again shown their true colours without any justice.
