A temporary recruitment headache, you don't think they've factored in that managers and players won't like it?
Clearly not, as they've not consulted them
A temporary recruitment headache, you don't think they've factored in that managers and players won't like it?
And why can't you have both?
Are you not a bit fed up with seeing the same old teams winning the league every season?
Maybe this I just what we need to break that merry-go-round.
I think you are right about the fact it will happen but they will remain in the premiershipLeicester won it only 5 years ago, it can happen, that’s the point. So what most of the time it’s only these big clubs but the principle anyone can, it seems you can’t grasp this.....
And I say if they want to break away, let them, make the PL more competitive. I’d say just go do it, let’s see what happens. PL is going to change regardless now so might as well do it without these teams holding it over everyone else.

I seem to remember they actually got furthest in the CL the next season compared to all the other English teams? Quarter final against Atletico springs to mind but I'm likely wrong.Leicester won it only 5 years ago, it can happen, that’s the point. If the managers and players openly stand against it, what does that leave the owners with?

I want nothing to do with this league so my only hope at this stage is that any TV rights are with Disney+ or some other streaming provider so I don't have to pay. If Sky take it on, i'll be binning them off out of principle.
I'm sure that the teams close to qualifying wouldn't mind a better chance if the bigger teams are not so keen. We might actually end up seeing a larger variety of clubs playing and winning European cups as a result.
Why can't a club choose to participate in multiple league's/ competitions simultaneously?
Are the clubs being trapped by anti competitive policies if they are told they can only play in 1 league/competitions (i.e uefa sanctioned) or be excluded/punished?
I'm not for a breakaway league but who gave uefa a God-given monopoly?
There's going to be some monumental tucking from one side or another in the next few weeks, will the PL/UEFA/FIFA be the first to crack or the 15 breakaway teams? Someone is going to back down.
I highly doubt the PL will kick the top 6 out and I highly doubt FIFA/UEFA will ban teams or do anything they said they would, it's all hot air. The owners don't give a **** if they get backlash they will carry on regardless, which is sad as I honestly felt a couple of days ago it wouldn't happen.

There would be 5 place for the non-permanent teams. The 15 permanent clubs are mostly the 15 richest clubs already, but they'll get an additional 250+ m payment for being a founding member.
So even of the likes of Leicester or West ham did get one of the remaining 5 places, you think they'd have any chance in a league competition which is played along side
the premiership. These 12-15 clubs are literality getting paid the total value West Ham's Market cap just for being part of it.
So the 5 charity case clubs would be playing a competition they couldn't possibly win, which would also affect you chances in all the other competitions.
Knockout comp give lower teams a change, but a team doing a Leicester in this proposed League is pretty much impossible.
If entry was based on, on pitch performance and the founders pocket lining 250m payment removed, most clubs & fans probably wouldn't be so opposed, at least not to this level.

Pretty sure UEFA and Fifa have more legitimacy than these 12 clubs however bad and corrupt they have been.
Clubs sign contracts the play in different competitions. And the top teams get well paid for doing so.
It's a bit like you telling your employer you're taking on a 2nd job and your performance on your current job will probably be affected and expecting not to be told to do one.
As I mentioned earlier, there are valid arguments for a club run competition replacing UEFA but as incompetent and corrupt as they may be, we're in safer hands with them running it than US investors. For too long have FIFA and UEFA ruled incompetently and corruptly but no one brings them to justice
I think this'll go to big American streaming services.
